Lee Chung Ah is a well-known face among K-drama fans, having appeared in a number of popular dramas including Because This Is My First Life, One Dollar Lawyer, and, most recently, Celebrity on Netflix.
Despite appearing on television since the early 2000s, she has never looked out of shape, which is an incredible feat even for celebrities. In fact, this stunning lady has only grown more beautiful over the years, even as she’s approaching 40.
To find out how she maintains her beauty, we scoured the internet and discovered some of her favourite diet recipes and workout routine to share with you. So, keep scrolling to learn more!
Lee Chung Ah’s daily workout routine
Every morning, Lee Chung Ah weighs herself and goes to the gym when she weighs more than 50kg. According to the actress, she carefully maintains her body weight without suddenly losing or gaining weight, so that her body will be in good condition even when she is tired from work.
Chung Ah’s daily workout routine includes cardio exercises, such as incline running and walking. She stretches her legs while on the high incline to get a full glute workout before moving on to weight training and finishing with some light stretching.
Her favourite machine is the hip abduction machine, which requires engaging your glute muscles to push the weight away from your body. If you can’t get to the gym, you can mimic the motion of the hip abduction machine by wrapping a resistance band around your legs at home or even at your desk!
Lee Chung Ah’s diet recipes
To start off, Chung Ah carefully portions her food into her small bowl (left picture) to avoid overeating. She also uses a smaller spoon (right picture) that’s just a tad larger than a teaspoon when she’s on a diet so she can eat slowly and feel full.
With that said, let’s dive into some of her most mouth-watering recipes, which she has graciously shared, that kept her slim and healthy!
For breakfast, Chung Ah grabs a handful of tomatoes and tofu and drizzles on Kewpie’s deep-roasted sesame dressing, her “magical sauce.” She enjoys eating the tomato and tofu together and stated that she will still have cake with coffee after this.
“Super simple” tofu salad
Chung Ah prepares this tofu salad by chopping cucumbers, fresh tofu (after squeezing the water), olive fruit, and crushed almonds.
The actress enjoys eating tofu due to its health benefits. Because it is high in protein, tofu is a good substitute for animal-derived meat.
It also contains all of the essential amino acids your body requires, as well as a high concentration of minerals and vitamins like calcium, manganese, iron, and vitamin A!
Duck breast steak and tomatoes
Another breakfast menu she’s shown is her duck breast steak with tomatoes and almonds on the side. Even though the portion is small, she declares that if she is still hungry after this meal, she will eat another tomato or apple.
We can see that she makes sure to eat her protein and vegetables while seasoning them to make them as tasty as possible. To season the meat and tomatoes in this recipe, she uses truffle olive oil, Himalayan pink salt, and a mixture of rock peppers!
Natto, fried egg, and rice
For this recipe, Chung Ah adds natto to her brown rice and a fried egg for extra protein. She then flavours the rice with seasame seeds, sesame oil, and soy sauce before serving it with yeolmu kimchi (summer radish salad), a Korean side dish.
Natto is another favourite ingredient the actress uses in nearly all of her dishes, besides tofu and almonds. While it may be an acquired taste for some, natto has numerous health benefits due to its high protein, vitamin, and mineral content.
The fermentation process also aids in the absorption of nutrients, which is why the actress frequently adds natto to her dishes.
Mixed grain rice
This recipe comprises of healthy grains, including one-third rice, one-third mixed grains with oats, and one-third black beans, soaked in water overnight.
Chung Ah cooks the ingredients in a pot for about 12 minutes on high heat, then two to three minutes on low heat when the rice is fully boiled.
This delectable dish is served with turban snail meat salad, yeolmu kimchi, natto, and dried seaweed for a nutritious and tasty lunch!
After a strenuous workout at the gym, Chung Ah made herself a midnight snack with one-eighth tofu drizzled in her favourite sesame sauce and five cucumber slices.
This clean and refreshing snack helped her reach her final weight loss goal of 50kg, and it is unquestionably a much healthier alternative to eating ramen at night.
