There’s a certain magic to the way Jo Malone, CBE, founder of Jo Loves, speaks about fragrances.

Each note she describes seems to waft into the air as if she’s conjuring it in real time. I had the privilege of meeting the legendary perfumer-and-entrepreneur at Pan Pacific Orchard, where Jo Loves and Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts announced an exciting global partnership.
The signature scent of this collaboration, Mango Thai Lime, will now grace every Pan Pacific property worldwide, offering guests an olfactory escape inspired by Asia’s vibrant tropics.
The Story Behind the Scent

The Mango Thai Lime fragrance draws inspiration from Jo’s travels across Asia, in particular the scent of Thailand’s mangoes and limes.
A blend of zesty mango, cool mint, warm black pepper, and delicate freesia, the fragrance encapsulates the Pan Pacific’s brand ethos of “Graceful Luxury.”
Beyond its captivating scent, this collaboration sets a new standard for sustainability.
Pan Pacific is the first luxury hotel group to feature Jo Loves in an innovative resin format, incorporating refillable bottles crafted from 100% post-consumer-recycled materials. It’s a thoughtful choice that enhances both luxury and environmental responsibility.
The Jo Loves Tapas Experience
While many of us may be familiar with Jo Malone London, the brand that she built and later sold to Estee Lauder Companies, we may have less interaction with Jo Loves, which currently doesn’t have a physical store in Singapore.
To understand the Jo Loves brand, Jo says we have to understand how Jo Loves’ fragrances are experienced at the Fragrance Brasserie Bar, which was first revealed in her 42 Elizabeth Street store.

This iconic Tapas Experience lets fragrances take on an edible-like quality, engaging all the senses.
Imagine selecting your personal “scented tapas” from a menu of Jo Loves products:
- Bath Cologne warmed in a tagine, releasing clouds of scented steam.
- Cleanser shaken over ice, strained into a glass for a cocktail-like refresh.
- Lotion whipped into a frothy texture and gently swept onto your skin with a paintbrush.
Fragrance with Heart and Resilience

Jo’s incredible talent and intuition for fragrance emerged early in her life, crafting her first cologne at just nine years old.
But her journey has been far from linear. She shared her battle with breast cancer and how the treatment robbed her of her sense of smell —an unimaginable loss for a perfumer.
With determination, she regained her olfactory gift and went on to create Jo Loves, pouring her love for life and resilience into every bottle.
It was a profoundly moving moment when Jo and I discovered a shared bond — we are both cancer survivors.
As we exchanged stories, the room seemed to fade away. Tears brimmed in both our eyes as we recounted the fear, the hope, and the triumph that shaped us. It was a connection that transcended words, just like Jo’s fragrances.

As I left the event, the scent of Mango Thai Lime lingered — a fitting reminder of my encounter with Jo Malone. Her resilience, her artistry, and her ability to create connections, whether through fragrance or conversation, left an indelible mark on me.
For Jo, every scent tells a story, and this collaboration is no exception. Together, Jo Loves and Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts invite guests to weave their own tales, perfumed with a fragrance that’s as vibrant as life itself.
The new Jo Loves Mango Thai Lime collection is available exclusively in-room at Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts locations globally.
