Imagine strolling down a blooming vegetable garden on a sunny afternoon, picking freshly ripened tomatoes, the earthy aroma of damp soil and crisp leaves lingering on your hands.
That’s the story behind Maison Margiela Fragrances’ latest Replica fragrance, ‘From the Garden’. It is inspired by the cherished memories of father-son perfumer duo, Master Perfumer Olivier Cresp, and his son Sebastien Cresp, Perfumer.
It takes the creators all the way back to Sebastien’s childhood in 1998, when they were harvesting tomatoes in Puglia, Italy. Just as Olivier had shared this fond memory of gardening with his son, he also recalls having a similar memory with his own father.
From the Garden is exactly as its name describes: every spritz brings a whiff of green Tomato Leaves bathed in tangy Green Mandarin notes. While Patchouli brings out the earthy scent of soil, the elements of Geranium balance it with a pleasant floral touch.
It’s a woody, citrus fragrance, a tasteful combination of fruity and earthy notes reminiscent of a vegetable garden in full bloom.
