Risabae is a veteran in the K-beauty world, nicknamed the “God of Hands” thanks to her unmatched makeup artistry and technique.

On a recent episode of MBC’s Point of Omniscient Interfere, a reality show offering a behind-the-scenes look into celebrities’ daily lives, fans got a glimpse into her hectic schedule and her well-kept nighttime skincare routine.

Known for her flawless complexion and smooth makeup base, Risabae’s skincare habits are just as impressive as her makeup skills. From thorough cleansing to her go-to products and thoughtful tips, there’s plenty to learn from her evening ritual.

Keep reading to discover how she keeps her skin prepped and camera-ready, day after day.

Step 1: She Washes Her Hands

Risabae’s first and most important step in her skincare routine is cleansing, but she starts by washing her hands, preventing the transfer of dirt from her hands to her face.

Step 2: She Removes Her Makeup Thoroughly

Everyone knows the struggle of mascara and eyeliner that refuses to budge when it’s time to come off. In her words, “If you wear heavy eye makeup, use a mascara remover.”

She gently combs through her lashes with the wand before cleaning it off on the back of her hand. After that, she uses her finger to apply the product on her hand to her bottom lashline for an all-around cleanse.

For her face, Risabae takes an oil cleanser and gently rubs her skin in a circular motion, switching directions every few seconds. She emphasises that cleansing against the direction of skin pores and peach fuzz is key to a thorough cleanse.

Once she has removed the makeup from her cheeks, nose, and chin, Risabae takes a wipe to address her eyes. The hosts note in awe that this meticulous precaution eliminates the chance of “panda eyes” from leftover eye makeup.

Step 3: She Double-Cleanses for a Clean Canvas

With her makeup cleared, Risabae washes the oil off her face before moving on to her foam cleanser. She creates a rich lather between her hands and massages her face in circular motions before rinsing with lukewarm water.

The final step of her cleansing routine raises questions among the hosts, with one asking, “I thought you’re supposed to splash your face with cold water to close the pores?”

Risabae clarifies that both extreme temperatures can shock the skin and recommends using warm water instead. She gingerly massages her face with her palms and fingers, resulting in a soothing cleansing routine that avoids irritation.

Step 4: She Packs on the Hydration

After cleansing, many of us reach for a towel to dry off, but Risabae takes a different approach. She explains, “Towels have dust, so I don’t use them on my face.” Instead, she mists her face with Avène Thermal Spring Water and lets it air dry.

Next, she dabs her face with a toner pad to deliver a dose of hydration, followed by a wash-off mask, which she applies thinly all over her face.

“I’m at the age where I need barrier repair,” Risabae jokingly remarks. She also extends her care to her lips, applying a layer of lip mask before continuing with her evening routine, which includes cleaning her makeup brushes, having dinner, and responding to her YouTube comments.
