About SENKA’s Suijyun Deep Moist Gel Cream

Senka Suijyun Deep Moist Gel Cream

A lightweight, watery gel moisturiser, SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves a non-sticky finish. The formula works to keep your skin plump and hydrated without clogging your pores, all thanks to a careful blend of nourishing ingredients.

The gel cream combines marine collagen with chestnut rose extract, two key ingredients that keep the skin moisturised for longer and improve its ability to hold moisture better. On top of that, it also features Shiseido’s Natu-ence Formulation™. It’s a formula that contains double hyaluronic acid, rice bran oil, honey, and SENKA’s signature silk cocoon essence. These ingredients work to brighten dull and dehydrated skin while keeping it soft and supple.

If you’re as particular about ingredients as I am, you’ll also be pleased to hear that the gel cream is alcohol-free, colourant-free, fragrance-free, and dermatologist-tested—like music to my ears.

With consistent use, the moisturiser promises to reduce skin dryness and oiliness, which is great for both the humid weather and air-conditioned environments. To see if it lives up to its expectations, I decided to put the SENKA Deep Moist Gel Cream through three tests over three days. Keep reading to see how it fared.

SENKA Suijyun Deep Moist Gel Cream review: What our writer thinks

Hydration test
Before

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream Before Hydration Readings

Right after I cleansed my skin, I placed the moisture meter on both sides of my face. As you can see, my right cheek is a little less hydrated compared to my left, so I wanted to see if SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream could give it a much-needed boost.

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream Hydration Test

I decided to use a sheet mask on the left side of my face and applied SENKA’s gel cream to the right side of my face. As I smoothed the gel cream over my cheek, my skin drank it all up in seconds. It felt incredibly cooling and refreshing because of the gel texture too.

After I removed the sheet mask, patted the essence into my skin, and waited for it to absorb, I picked up the moisture meter again and measured the hydration levels on both sides of my face.

After

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream After Hydration Readings

The sheet mask was able to up the moisture level on the left side of my face by 9.1%, but SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream gave my skin a whopping 34.9% bump in moisture! The results truly speak for themselves. Not to mention, my skin feels much softer and bouncier right after using the gel cream.

Greasiness test

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream Greasiness Test

The next morning, I applied my usual moisturiser on the left side of my face (left) and SENKA’s gel cream on the right side of my face (right). I waited for an hour and then I brought out the blotting papers.

My usual moisturiser is thicker than SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream, yet it didn’t provide enough moisture for my skin. SENKA’s gel cream, on the other hand, is much lighter, but it was able to hydrate and balance out my skin’s sebum production.

When my skin is well moisturised, it doesn’t get as flushed too. So I also noticed that the right side of my face had fewer red patches after using SENKA’s gel cream.

Makeup wear test

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream Makeup Test

Just as I did with the greasiness test, I applied my regular moisturiser on the left side of my face and SENKA’s gel cream on my right. With a makeup sponge, I then applied liquid foundation to both sides of my face. After an hour, I grabbed pieces of tissue paper and patted down on both cheeks.

My usual moisturiser has a slippery texture, so the foundation had a hard time gripping on, which caused more transfer on the tissue paper. SENKA’s gel cream absorbed quickly into my skin and gave it a perfectly hydrated base for my foundation to cling on to, resulting in less product transfer.

SENKA Suijyun Deep Moist range: Lotion I, Lotion II, and Emulsion

Senka Suijyun Full Set

Apart from SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream, I also tried the rest of SENKA’s Suijyun Deep Moist range to amp up the hydration and moisture.

Step 1:
When my skin felt greasy, I reached for Deep Moist Lotion I, which has a light and fresh texture that balances oily or combination skin.

If my skin felt a little dry or tight, I applied a layer of Deep Moist Lotion II. It has richer texture that was easy to spread and it gave my skin a dewy look—perfect for dry or normal skin. These two lotions serve as toners, which I can use interchangeably after I wash my face.

Step 2:
When my skin felt parched, I followed up with the Deep Moist Emulsion. The milky formula feels incredibly moisturising and comforting, yet the texture is still lightweight. If my skin is greasy, I’ll skip this step.

Step 3:
The Deep Moist Lotions and Emulsion helped to prep my skin for the Deep Moist Gel Cream. When I used the gel cream, my skin soaked up all of its hydrating goodness in seconds and locked in the moisture.

SENKA Deep Moist Gel Cream retails at S$21.90 (50g) each and is available at Don Don Donki, Guardian, Shopee, Watsons, and Welcia-BHG stores.

Summary

All reviewers were impressed with SENKA Deep Moist Gel Cream’s lightweight yet moisturising formula, unlike other gel creams or moisturisers they tried in the past. They liked that the gel cream absorbed quickly into their skin without leaving a greasy residue, and most of them said it locks in hydration like a sheet mask or sleeping mask.

Some reviewers even noticed a decrease in sebum production after three days of use. Those with sensitive skin appreciated the fragrance-free formula too, as it reduced the chances of skin irritation. Most reviewers said they would continue using SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream as well as the entire Suijyun range.

Joleen, 18

Skin type: Oily, acne-prone skin
Skin concerns: Dull, textured skin with visible pores and blackheads

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream Reviewer Joleen

When I used the gel cream for the first time, my skin looked glowy and moisturised instantly. Over the trial period, it helped to decrease and balance out my sebum production. My skin felt softer and more supple.

I’ve never used products from SENKA before, but after trying this range for about five days, my skin improved a lot and my acne was reduced. I also like that the products are lightweight and absorb quickly into my skin. My skin doesn’t feel dry or greasy throughout the day. I will continue to use this as it improved and made my skin healthier.

Suriq, 21

Skin type: Dry/combination skin
Skin concerns: Uneven skin tone, dull and textured skin

The gel cream is lightweight and absorbed really quickly into my skin. I used a very small amount because it is able to keep my skin moisturised; using too much moisturiser usually makes my face look oily. Compared to another gel cream I was using, the SENKA Deep Moist Gel Cream gives my skin a soft, dewy finish.

I am very impressed with SENKA’s Suijyun Deep Moist range. I have a dry cheeks but an oily T-zone, so I was afraid that the products would make me break out, but it didn’t. This a very simple range and the lotions and emulsion really complemented the moisturiser. I will continue using this range of products because my cheeks stopped feeling itchy and dry.

Ariel, 21

Skin type: Dry, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Dull, textured skin with visible pores

My skin felt refreshed and hydrated immediately after using this product. I did not wear any makeup during the trial period, but this product significantly reduced the amount of sebum produced on my face. It doesn’t make my face feel sticky after application and it absorbs quickly into the skin.

This entire skincare range made my skin felt more moisturised. All the products are non-sticky and they don’t make my skin feel tight after using them too.

Tesia, 23

Skin type: Dry/combination skin
Skin concerns: Uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin with visible pores

SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream is simple to use and completely fuss-free. It absorbs quickly even when I’m in a rush. I much prefer this over thicker creams that have messed with my makeup base. I will be reaching for the gel cream often, probably in the morning under my makeup because it’s lightweight and absorbs fast. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable when I layer my sunscreen over it either.

Both lotions in the range were very light, almost as if I was applying water on my face. However, they took quite a while to absorb, so I only use it when I have the time. I liked the emulsion because a little goes a long way, and I use the gel cream to seal all the moisture in.

Wen Xin, 23

Skin type: Oily/combination skin
Skin concerns: Textured skin with visible pores and blackheads

The gel cream absorbed into my skin in seconds and my skin texture feels smoother after using this product. My face feels hydrated throughout the day and doesn’t feel dry in the mornings. The product did not clog my pores too.

In fact, the acne bumps on my forehead were all gone after using this range for five days. I have been trying to remove those bumps for about half a year but nothing helped, until I tried SENKA’s gel cream. It’s the best product I’ve used so far because it saved my skin!

Jia Li, 24

Skin type: Oily/combination, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Dull skin, uneven skin tone, dehydration, visible pores, and blackheads/whiteheads

I like using this moisturiser as it doesn’t feel like there’s anything on my face. It left my face looking dewy and glow-y without being greasy. It’s extremely effective for those with dehydrated and sensitive skin as it doesn’t clog your pores. I think a good tip is to put it in the refrigerator, so that it cools your face down in the heat.

I usually use a sheet mask before applying moisturiser as my skin gets dehydrated easily. However, I decided to exclude a sheet mask for this review, and I feel that I can make do without a sheet mask in the future. One more thing I really like is that the fragrance-free formula. Having sensitive skin, fragrance tends to aggravate my skin.

Kristina, 25

Skin type: Dry/combination skin
Skin concerns: Uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin with blackheads/whiteheads

Unlike other gel creams, this product is both hydrating and non-sticky, so it’s ideal for night time and daytime use. Knowing that the product does not include artificial scents or colouring, I feel confident using it and my skin has become healthier and more glow-y every time I use it. I applied makeup over it and it helped my foundation stay on longer too. This is the best gel cream I’ve tried!

I have been under the air-conditioner these days, which led to dry and cracked skin. However, after using these products, my skin feels soft er and more moist throughout the whole day. I have always been a fan of SENKA’s facial cleansers, and I am glad I found a product that I can use to complete my daytime and night time routine.

Cheryl, 25

Skin type: Oily/combination skin
Skin concerns: Dull, dehydrated skin with visible pores and blackheads

I thought the gel cream was a very simple and fuss-free product. The packaging was basic and not over-the-top. The texture of the product was very silky and lightweight. There’s also no scent to it, which I appreciate.

Overall, I really liked the gel cream. As I have oily/combination skin, I only used the Lotion II and Deep Moist Gel Cream. This combination provided me with sufficient hydration for the day. It left my skin feeling moisturised but not overly saturated in product. It is a moisturizer that I enjoy using in the daytime and will continue to do so.

Maxine, 25

Skin type: Oily/combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin
Skin concerns: Uneven skin tone, textured skin with blackheads/whiteheads, visible pores, and acne scars

After using the gel cream for the first time, my skin felt moisturised. The cream absorbed quickly and has a nice, cooling sensation. The dry patches on my skin were gone too. After five days, the product yielded even better results. My skin felt soft, moisturised, and smooth to the touch. It soothed and hydrated my irritated skin and left it feeling supple.

The Lotion I left my skin refreshed but I felt that pouring it directly onto my hands wasted a lot of product because of its consistency. As for the gel cream, I love its watery texture because it does not sit heavily on my skin. A small amount works to keep my skin and neck hydrated.

Nicole, 26

Skin type: Acne-prone, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Dull, textured skin with visible pores and blackheads/whiteheads

My favourite in SENKA’s Suijyun range has got to be the Deep Moist Gel Cream. When I used the gel cream for the first time, my skin felt refreshed and plumper. It really provides hydration throughout the day and keeps my skin moisturised. I like how it gives my skin a subtle, dewy glow after every application too, without feeling greasy or sticky at all.

The fast absorption is a bonus for me because I usually dislike putting on moisturisers like the ones I tried in the past. The Lotion I and II worked well for my sensitive skin too, although I don’t quite see the difference between both. I have yet to try the Emulsion as I think my skin is already quite oily, but I’ll definitely give it a shot since the gel cream trial is over!

Candy, 27

Skin type: Dry/combination, acne-prone, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Textured skin with visible pores, dehydrated skin with blackheads/whiteheads

The Deep Moist Gel Cream is the star in this line. It really helped to provide hydration throughout the day, and the texture isn’t thick. Compared to other moisturisers, it doesn’t leave my skin greasy at the end of the day. It didn’t cause blackheads too.

Overall, the SENKA Suijuyn Deep Moist Range feels really comforting and hydrating without clogging my pores. The Lotion I felt like a lightweight toner and helped me prep my skin after cleanser. The Lotion II was like a lightweight serum that added more hydration to my skin before using the Deep Moist Gel Cream.

Margarette, 27

Skin type: Oily/combination skin
Skin concerns: Textured skin with uneven skin tone and visible pores

The product has a gel-like, lightweight texture that is non-sticky. SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream locks in moisture like a sheet mask or sleeping mask, so it’s great for both oily and dry skin types. This range is good for moisturising my skin. My complexion became smoother, more supple, and hydrated in just two days.

Kaylee, 27

Skin type: Oily/combination skin
Skin concerns: Uneven skin tone, visible pores, and blackheads/whiteheads

Compared to other gel creams I’ve tried, SENKA’s Deep Moist Gel Cream is definitely lighter and absorbs faster into my skin. I like that it hydrates my skin instantly after application. After three days, I noticed a decrease in sebum production.

In the morning, I use the Lotion I with gel cream. At night, I use the Lotion I, followed by the Emulsion and gel cream. I love the light texture of the Lotion I and am surprised that it absorbs this fast. As for the emulsion, it is slightly thicker but doesn’t feel heavy on the skin—great for locking in the moisture.

Hanisah, 28

Skin type: Dry, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Dull skin, uneven skin tone, textured skin, dehydration, and blackheads/whiteheads

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream Reviewer Hanisah

When I used this for the first time, my skin felt and looked amazing. My skin loves gel cream, so I spammed it on my face and neck so my neck won’t feel dry too. I had to do spring cleaning for Hari Raya and I had my makeup on. Surprisingly, my makeup didn’t separate or crack—it stayed intact throughout the day.

During this Circuit Breaker, my skin went into dehydration mode, even with a moisturiser on top. This product came at the right time where I needed a change of moisturiser. I am impressed with this range and my skin just loves the moisture it’s been given.

Clark, 30

Skin type: Sensitive, oily/combination skin
Skin concerns: Dull, dehydrated skin

My skin drinks up this gel cream whenever I use it, and it leaves it moisturised and matte. However, when I used this at night, my skin feel tight the morning after.

That said, I still think this is the perfect moisturiser to use for in the day, especially for people with oily skin. It is also fragrance-free, which is a plus as it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I saw an increase in hydration and softness after using the product for three days.

Sherlynn, 32

Skin type: Dry/combination skin
Skin concerns: Textured skin with visible pores, dehydrated skin with blackheads/whiteheads

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream Reviewer Sherlynn

When I applied the gel cream for the first time, it delivered a cooling sensation, which I quite enjoyed. The product absorbed into my skin well without leaving any uncomfortable tackiness. My skin felt hydrated and the gel cream sealed in the moisture from my previous products like a hydrating sleeping mask.

The other products in the SENKA Suijyun range apply very comfortably on the skin without causing irritation or breakouts. Yet, their products are effective in delivering the nutrition and hydration needed to keep my skin supple, smooth, and moisturised. The lightweight formulation is very suitable for our humid climate.

Nicole, 34

Skin type: Oily/combination skin
Skin concerns: Dull, dehydrated skin with visible pores and blackheads/whiteheads

The packaging is convenient, although I would have preferred to have a spatula to scoop the product out from the tub. I like that it doesn’t contain any fragrance. My skin felt hydrated and plumped after the first usage! It also brightened up my skin. I love the gel-like, watery texture that feels luxurious when applied on my face. It absorbed quickly without leaving sticky residue too.

I tried using the Lotion I together with this gel cream and I enjoyed how lightweight and fast-absorbing the lotion was as well. I’m not sure if using both products together helped in the overall efficacy, but this combination worked well for me!

Hannah, 34

Skin type: Dry skin
Skin concerns: Dull, dehydrated skin with uneven skin tone

Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream Reviewer Hanna

I liked the scent of the product as it was neither musty nor overwhelming. The texture of the gel cream is smooth and blendable, so I use my fingers to dab it on my face and then spread it out. It absorbed easily too because there was no transfer on my clothing or bedding! Compared to other gel creams I’ve tried in the past, this one feels more cooling and refreshing. Also, it’s super lightweight!

SENKA’s Suijyun Deep Moist Range lives up to the expectation of keeping my skin hydrated and moisturised. I tend to put our AC on full blast, which makes my skin even drier, but not with this range.

Jessie, 37

Skin type: Dry/combination skin
Skin concerns: Dull, dehydrated skin with uneven skin tone

The texture of SENKA’s gel cream way lighter than those from other brands that I’ve tried. The gel cream keeps my skin hydrated for a long period of time, which I love. It absorbed into my skin easily and left it deeply moisturised and smooth. The formula contains no alcohol and fragrance, so it is suitable for sensitive skin. It minimises the chance of triggering allergies too.

I use the emulsion in the morning because it’s lightweight and fuss-free. It is quick and convenient to apply, which is great for busy work mornings. Overall, I love the range very much, as I feel safe using them. Most importantly, my skin feels more supple and hydrated now.

Pat, 45

Skin type: Dry, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Dehydrated skin with visible pores

The SENKA Deep Moist Gel Cream is lightweight, fragrance-free, and feels luxurious. I noticed an increase in hydration after three days, and my face felt so much softer and smoother after five days. It has worked better for me than other gel creams that I have used previously.

I’m surprised how lightweight and effective the products in this skincare range are. I like the combination of the Lotion II and the gel cream for my dehydrated skin. The duo made my skin feel hydrated throughout the day and overnight as well.
