Founded in Pienza, a Tuscan town that has since been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bottega Verde was first opened in 1972. Bottega Verde started out as a small herbal shop that believed in artisanal production and cosmetics made from natural active ingredients.
Flash forward 47 years later, Bottega Verde still maintains its artisanal production – retrieving ingredients from natural sources such as its estate’s own fields or plants (Tenuta Massaini is one such estate) and doing everything in-house. From product ideas to their development, clinical testing (done by 10 dedicated experts) and down to the fine details – like the packaging. This ensures that the quality of its products are always controlled and top-notch.
Today, it is Italy’s no.1 natural cosmetics brand, and has probably been a part of every Italian woman’s life, with over 400 retailers in the country. The brand was available in Singapore briefly, but left a while ago. Thankfully, we will be able to get our hands on products from the natural cosmetics brand, now that it has opened a counter at Takashimaya S.C. Representatives from Bottega Verde Singapore also shared that their products will soon be made available for online purchase.
Over 800 Bottega Verde products available in Singapore
Yes, you read that right. The Bottega Verde counter in Singapore will stock over 800 products – which actually sound less surprising if you knew that the brand has over 1,000 products in total. Gasp! These products range all across skincare, body care and more. P.S. We hear that there’ll soon be some very exciting Christmas gift sets up for grabs!
All of its products are formulated without SLES-SLS, formaldehyde releasers, parabens, colourings, or EDTA. As with natural cosmetics, you can also look forward to collections that are suitable for those with fussy sensitive skin.
The three iconic collections
Bottega Verde’s three most iconic lines will be available in Singapore. They include the Avena collection, which is enriched with Tenuta Massaini Oat Milk. The ingredient is known to have a calming effect, which makes this line perfect for those with sensitive or dry skin. It protects while cleansing and nourishing your skin. Since it is so delicate it can be used for the whole family as well!
Next, the Olivo collection, which is formulated with extra virgin olive oil sourced from Tenuta Massaini. It is rich, deeply nourishing, soothing and leaves your skin radiant. Olivo is the most ideal for those who need some instant moisture and nourishment.
The final collection, Uva Rossa, is formulated with red grapes, also from Tenuta Massaini. This means that the products are loaded with antioxidants which is great for anti-ageing. All the products in this collection, from the lip balm to the shower gel and moisturiser, will be your go-to items to hit the snooze button on ageing!
Moringa Defence
What we’re most attracted to and looking forward to trying is Bottega Verde’s Moringa Defence collection, the newest one in its family of over 1,000 products. Its active ingredients – moringa oil, Keratinasi, Oxygeskin, and Pollushield – help to protect, repair, and replenish your skin of essential nourishment. The products in this range are especially great for skin that faces daily pollutants and aggressors such as haze, free radicals, blue light from electronic devices, vehicle exhaust, UV rays, dust, and more.
Moringa Defence Eye Contour Gel-Cream
We managed to try a few of its products and we’re particularly drawn to the Moringa Defence Eye Contour Gel-Cream (SGD30). Just like the rest of the products in the Moringa line, its ingredients are 98% natural, and this one is especially formulated without any fragrance so it’s safe for your delicate eye area.
As the gel glides on, you’ll be able to feel an instant cooling sensation from its porcelain applicator that’ll definitely freshen up and de-puff your peepers in the morning. The gel itself is lightweight and easily absorbed by the skin. Best of all, it doesn’t leave a tacky sensation after application. It’ll probably work well under your concealer too!
