Women go for a Brazilian wax for many reasons: some believe it’s more hygienic and less messy during “that time of the month”, others want to prevent a wardrobe malfunction when they wear a bikini.

For the uninitiated, Brazilian waxing removes body hair in and around the pubic region. This can mean a bikini wax, which removes hair in areas that a small bikini bottom will not be able to cover. It can also mean a complete removal of hair from the front, around the labia, and from your butt crack (some call this The Hollywood).

It’s important to find a good service provider whom you can trust your intimate areas with. We’ve compared five popular Brazilian waxing salons in Singapore so that you can decide for yourself which one you think is the best:

1. Strip

With a presence in 10 major cities around the world, Strip is truly the home-grown pride of Singapore when it comes to hair removal. Armed with 15 years of experience, their “waxperts” promise to provide the best in service and product quality. They have also designed a set of protocol to ensure that your waxing experience is done professionally and in the most hygienic manner.

Price: From SGD21 for a bikini line wax to SGD62 for the entire area (females)

What clients say: Accessible store locations are always a plus, and the good quality of the wax used here helps to minimise the pain factor. However, many have complained about employees hard-selling packages and products.

Outlets: 15 locations, including Mandarin Gallery, Plaza Singapura, and Vivocity. (Most number of outlets!) Find them here.

Extra: Try their Strip Ice Cream, a post-wax treatment product that calms and soothes irritated skin, as well as prevent in-grown hair. Many swear by it!

2. Cecilia Westberry

Cecilia Westberry has been waxing for more than 25 years by now, so believe it when she promises you the fastest waxing session. With a polished storefront and clean environment, feel pampered, and at ease from the moment you step in. (Most experienced!)

Price: SGD48 onwards

What clients say: Customers give this place a high rating for its impeccable customer service and reasonable pricing. (see reviews on their Facebook page)

3. Honeypot Wax Boutique

Honeypot aims to deliver the best in their Brazilian wax jobs. Using in-house wax formulated with the help of Australian chemists, therapists here uphold hygiene standards by never double-dipping. Honeypot is particularly specialised at Brazilian waxes, so you can rest assured that they know what they’re doing.

Price: From SGD28 for a basic bikini wax to SGD63 for the entire area

What clients say: Your Brazilian waxing experience may differ from therapist to therapist, although reviews are generally positive.

Outlets: Two outlets, at Ngee Ann City and Clifford Centre. Visit its website here.

Extra: Honeypot also sells a calming treatment spray, which is formulated in-house, and claims to soothe the skin while removing stubborn ingrown hair. Score! (Offers post-treatment product options!)

4. Pink Parlour

Having won multiple awards over the years, Pink Parlour has established a solid customer base in the Southeast Asian region. Waxing techniques and procedures are kept professional and painless, while being efficient.
