Peek at the skincare shelves of models, makeup artists, and celebrities (or anyone with flawless skin), and there’s a good chance that you’ll spot a bottle of micellar cleansing water. This skincare staple looks and feels just like regular water, but is able to remove makeup, cleanse, and tone with just a few light swipes of a cotton pad.

However, not all micellar waters are created equal. Different skin types and concerns require different formulations, which is why Japanese beauty brand Bifesta has launched their renewed Bifesta Micellar Cleansing Water series in celebration of their 10th Anniversary.

To find out just how effective the makeup removers are, Daily Vanity has invited 10 readers to give us their honest opinions about the products after trying them out for six days. Spoiler alert: the average verdict for the Micellar Cleansing Waters was a 4.8-star rating out of 5!

Before we dive into the reviews, let’s learn a little more about the Bifesta Micellar Cleansing Water series.

About Bifesta Micellar Cleansing Water

Bifesta Micellar Cleansing Water all variants

Top (L-R): Sensitive, Moist. Bottom (L-R): Sebum, Brightup, Acne Care.

Bifesta is no stranger to micellar waters. In fact, Bifesta was one of the first brands to launch a micellar water product within the Singapore market. Since then, the beauty brand has garnered loyal fans who adore its popular Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes as well.

The Micellar Cleansing Water series features five variants that cater to different skin types and needs:

Of course, just like the other makeup removers in its range, the Bifesta Micellar Cleansing Water series removes makeup in mere seconds. Even better, the series boasts an improved formula that includes a new blend of Pullulan and Penetrating Hyaluronic Acid, which does an exceptional job at removing makeup with less friction while keeping the skin hydrated.

Besides removing makeup, the formula is also able to wipe away dust, pollen, PM2.5 pollution particles, and dirt. When used regularly, you’ll notice clearer, smoother skin over time.

Bifesta Micellar Cleansing Water how to use

What’s more, the products in the series come in a pump bottle, which makes it extra convenient to dispense and use anytime, anywhere. To top it off, the bottles have also been given an upgrade in size, bumping the original 300ml volume to 400ml!

These formulas do not contain any fragrance, colourants, oils, drying alcohols, and parabens, so they’re safe for acne-prone and sensitive skin. Since we’re all wearing masks regularly, it can even help to reduce our chances of getting maskne (mask-induced acne).

Bifesta Micellar Cleansing Water retails for S$17.90 each online at Watsons, Guardian, Shopee and Lazada, and offline at most leading drugstores, supermarkets, and department stores.

I like the fuss-free packaging of the Bifesta Micellar Cleansing Water Sebum. The texture felt lightweight and it was able to glide on my skin smoothly. After using it for the first time, my skin felt thoroughly cleansed and there was no makeup residue left on my face after using two cotton pads – I usually require three cotton pads.

My skin didn’t appear red as it usually would too, and it didn’t feel stripped of moisture. After six days, my skin texture appeared smoother and more refined. I noticed less sebum production and fewer clogged pores too. The skincare ingredients in the formula have definitely helped as my skin doesn’t feel dry and my pores appear to have gotten slightly smaller!
