I’ve always been a night owl. But even though I don’t sleep early – I typically can still get around six hours of sleep. That’s until my baby came along.

I’m a new mum and what they say about motherhood, I can now tell you, is rather true. Sleep is a luxury. With night feeds and breast milk expression in the middle of the night, it’s impossible to get more than four consecutive hours of sleep. And after so many months surviving on little sleep, I’ve finally noticed signs of fatigue in my skin: roughness and dullness.

And then Fresh launched its Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream and I thought it was a sign that I needed an intervention.

What’s the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream good for?

Being well-rested leads to better health and productivity; it also gives us better complexion! After all, sleep deprivation leads to great moisture loss in skin and inability for skin to recover from effects of environmental aggressors. The new Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream helps with these issues that sleep-starved individuals face.

This moisturiser is an antioxidant-rich night cream that neturalises free radicals that attack skin, so that our skin can focus on recovering more efficiently while we sleep.

It is made with a new ingredient, the Super Lotus, which is obtained through a highly sustainable process to capture the natural power of the whole living lotus plant directly at a lotus farm. Then, it is sent to a mobile lab for processing – which means it doesn’t even leave the farm before it gets into each jar – it doesn’t get any fresher than this, we bet!

Besides the Super Lotus, which helps hydrate, boost radiance, and deliver antioxidant protection, the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream is also formulated with the Peach Leaf Extract that can help skin look and feel more refreshed and de-stressed, and the Chamomile Flower Oil, which has a calming effect on skin.

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream review: Do we like it?

The first thing that struck me was the extremely luxurious texture it comes in – it’s in a whipped texture that reminds me very much of yogurt. Its lightweight texture glides easily onto skin and then melts instantly into it, leaving no stickiness nor grease.

As if the texture isn’t enough to turn using it into a pampering nightly ritual, it also has a delicate but distinctive peach fragrance that soothes me. As someone who doesn’t have that much time to spare for sleep, I really appreciate anything that can help me fall asleep faster. The calming scent definitely does it.

I have noticed a brighter complexion since the very first morning after I used the product. I remember waking up at 6.30am because my baby was up and I couldn’t help but walk back to my mirror after I’ve walked past it: It’s evident how much clearer my skin looked!

Despite sleeping in an air-conditioned room, I also find that this overnight cream hugs my skin like a blanket – my skin feels protected, nourished, and moisturised when I woke up.

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream Review 3

I’m a sucker for sleep care products: I’m always investing in products like lavender sprays, massage oils, and scented candles to help me sleep faster and better. But I’ve never really seen my nightly skincare routine as part of this sleep ritual. That’s until the Dream Face Cream came along. Besides the beautifully sensorial experience it provides, I also find that it helps give me skin that looks well-rested – even if I was unable to find a lot of time to sleep at night. Of course, I’d love to be able to get a solid eight hours of uninterrupted sleep, which is very much a luxury right now. But if you ask me, this product is a great second best.
