Acne may not always be high on my alert list, but I never fail to get pesky zits and much oilier skin nearing that time of the month.

What this means is that while I may not fill my skincare stash with many oil and acne-control products, I find it necessary to have an SOS go-to skincare solution that can save my skin from pimples on those few days.

If you’re like me, here’s a tip: try a masque that’s capable of controlling oil and keeping pimples at bay!

I’ve added the Himalaya Neem Face Pack to my routine recently and here’s what I think about it.

How the Himalaya Neem Face Pack work

I have heard many good things about turmeric, one of the recent buzzwords as far as DIY masks are concerned. This natural ingredient is known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antiseptic properties.

This super ingredient is the star of the Himalaya Neem Face Pack, which is formulated to reduce acne by eliminating acne-causing bacteria and the effect of inflammation on skin. In other words, it is a great solution for adult acne!

Himalaya Neem Face Pack review: Does it work?

While leave-on masques are usually packaged in jars, which require you to either apply using a spatula or with your fingers dipped into them, the Himalaya Neem Face Pack comes in a tube. I like this packaging better because it is easy to dispense the amount that I need, is more hygienic, and definitely less messy.

Application is effortless. The Himalaya Neem Face Pack is creamy, and glides onto my skin smoothly. It dries after a while and unlike many clay masks in the market that promise the same benefits, it is incredibly easy to wash off without leaving behind a mess.

I usually leave the masque on for about 10 minutes before washing it away with water. I notice my skin look brighter and also feel refreshed and clean. And as an oil-control masque, it doesn’t dry out my skin.

I used to get two or three pimples in my pre-menstrual week, typically around my forehead and chin. But in the week that I used the Himalaya Neem Face Pack, my face feels less oily, and no pimple came up.

Great for oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin

The Himalaya Neem Face Pack will be perfect for those who have oily skin or acne-prone skin. And if you have combination skin like me, consider using it just on your T-zone. (You can apply a hydrating or brightening mask on the rest of your face, depending on your skin concern!)

Because the product is made with herbal ingredients (other than turmeric, the Neem plant is also another key ingredient), those with sensitive skin are also going to find it agreeing with their fragile skin.

Other than the Neem Face Pack, Himalaya also has a series of other products in its Neem collection, including the Purifying Neem Face Wash, Purifying Neem Foaming Face Wash, Purifying Neem Scrub, and Protecting Neem & Turmeric Soap.

These products are available at Watsons, Guardian, NTUC, Giant, Mustafa, and NHG Polyclinics, and their prices range between SGD7.95 and SGD12.95.
