I confess. I’m a facial fan-girl.
All my life, I’ve heard that 25 is the awful age where your metabolism slows down and your skin starts to show signs of ageing.
My grand preparation for turning 25 included signing up for a gym membership at 24 (I’ve yet to sort that out), and going for facials since the age of 21. Across the last four years, I’ve seen some impressive results, as well as some mediocre outcomes, so I was intrigued to see where La Signature’s Facial Treatment would fit on the highly competitive facial scale.
But right from the moment I set foot into La Source Spa and Hair, I knew it was going to be a good experience.
As if their grand outlook and luxurious decor weren’t convincing enough, their professional yet friendly staff advised me that this facial was not simply a facial but an experience and how it was time for me switch to full relaxation mode, once I filled out their questionnaire, where I listed my skin concerns for them to pay attention to – dry and rather dehydrated skin, acne scars and dull skin.
I had high expectations for the 13 steps in this facial dedicated to reawaken my skin and I was not disappointed. From the welcome massage, to the deep pore cleansing, to the virtually painless extraction by the skilled staff, I knew I was in good hands.
The star of this treatment, of course, was the jet of pure oxygen designed to invigorate my skin, right after all the unclogging was done.
With freshly cleaned pores, my skin had never been more ready to receive that burst of fresh oxygen. The warm suction sensation from the Oxyjet machine was comfortable, as 98% of pure oxygen was being shot into my skin’s deep layers to reinforce natural skin hydration through binding moisture – just what my dry skin cells needed.
To finish off this luxurious pamper-sesh, I was treated to the ultimate relaxation massage by their skilled therapist to allow all the nutrition-rich goodness to truly penetrate my skin, ensuring it would stay locked in. I was definitely not surprised to see my skin positively glowing after the facial.
Aside from how gloriously pampered I felt, my skin had it’s own tale to tell – Usually red and blotchy after regular facials with extractions, my skin was actually smooth and even-toned. Even my forehead which is regularly the driest area in my face was incredibly smooth-to-touch and bouncy.
Normally a little uneasy to leave the house without makeup, I left La Source Spa confidently with zero makeup that afternoon after the facial – armed with the youthful and hydrated glow from when I was 21 years old.
Will I try this facial again?

Skin Concerns: Dry and dull skin with some parts of my skin more sensitive than others as well as large pores, and dark circles.
I highly recommend this luxurious facial if you need to de-stress and pamper yourself! The staff were very attentive and welcoming from the moment I walked into the spa and checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable. The therapist was skilled and I was able to fully relax during the massage!
My favourite part of the facial was the Oxyjet treatment – I’ve done it once before somewhere else and didn’t like it because it stung and it was very uncomfortable so I was afraid that this would happen again. However, the therapist made the Oxyjet treatment very comfortable and in fact, it felt soothing – especially after the extraction. I was very impressed that my skin tone was evened out and brightened after the facial.
The after-effects of the facial was a natural glow that lasted for two days! While the facial is quite costly compared to other regular ones, the ambience and service provided make it well worth the money!

This is one of the best facials I’ve experienced, from the grand furnishing of the spa to the thorough therapist! My therapist was very attentive to my skin’s conditions and specific steps such as the enzyme mask and serums were chosen according to my skin condition on that day. After the facial, my skin was more hydrated and glowing.
The heated bed and massage were so good that I fell asleep during the facial! The salon was also very thoughtful and provided a folded blanket for me to prop up my knees during the 2.5-hour session. It was certainly a very relaxing experience and they are also registered with CaseTrust, so no need to worry about them being pushy and forcing you to buy packages like other facial places might.

Skin Concerns: Dull and uneven skin, acne scars and blemishes, and large pores.
When it comes to a facial, I am always very concerned about whether it would leave my acne-prone, sensitive skin looking and feeling worse than when I started the treatment. I’ve had bad experiences where facials left my skin looking very red and slightly itchy for a few days, and others where it did nothing for my skin besides appearing more hydrated for one day.
On the day of the facial, I had a lot of blemishes, clogged pores, whiteheads, and blackheads and my therapist spent extra time to do a very thorough extraction for me – the longest that I’ve ever gone through! I saw a noticeable improvement in terms of my pores – they actually look clear of gunk and are smaller than before, which I am very happy with. I also want to recommend people to give the Oxyjet a shot – this was my first time trying it, and I really liked how my skin was being soothed and nourished at the same time.
Overall, this facial has been pretty outstanding, not only because of how well the extraction was carried out but also because I can see and feel the results.

After this session, my skin immediately looked younger! My therapist unclogged my pores via extraction, and despite the inevitable pain during extraction, my skin was bouncy and bright after the session. I liked the entire ambience of the place and how the therapist began the session with essential oils to relax the mind and body. She even advised me on how to treat my skin type with specific skincare tips after the facial.
I liked that the facial was customised for my skin – for example, I had two different masks such as a charcoal-based mask on my oily T-zone area and a hydrating one for the rest of my face. The Oxyjet was also comfortable and interesting! I will recommend this facial to others because even though there might be others with a more affordable price point, La Source spa is very easily accessible and it will certainly be a good pampering session!
