With electric toothbrushes dominating dental care in recent years, I’m sure you’ve either picked one up yourself or considered making the switch from your traditional toothbrush.

I’ve done the latter – succumbed to all the advertisements selling the electric toothbrush experience. I was excited to embark on an elevated dental care experience, only to find myself disappointed with my purchase.

When I got the opportunity to try the new Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush, I was sceptical but thrilled. Its sleek and modern design caught my attention, but did it live up to the hype? Read on to find out.

Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush

The Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush sets itself apart from other electric toothbrushes on the market with its interchangeable brush heads (each with a different function) and customisable brushing modes, which you can change from the mobile application.

You can choose from three different toothbrush materials: ABS plastic, aluminium alloy, and stainless steel. Each set comes with three different brush heads for gum care, cleaning and whitening.

Offline Version (L-TB01- P/A/S)

If pastel pink, blue, or white tickles your fancy, you might want to head down to your nearest Laifen retail store to cop one of these offline versions in ABS plastic!

You can also purchase the glossy and modern aluminium alloy and stainless steel variations in stores.

The offline version comes with four Gum Care brush heads, along with one Super-Clean and one Ultra-Whitening brush head each.

All Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrushes come with a Type-C magnetic cable and a USB-C to USB adapter to charge the toothbrush via USB.

Only available with the offline version, each set has a matching storage case specially designed for the Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush. It can accommodate one toothbrush and one brush head, which can be detached when storing.

My old electric toothbrush was too bulky, which made it difficult to bring with me on the go. I would have to purchase a travel toothbrush set for my travels instead. This is why my eyes lit up when I saw that the offline version of the Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush came with a matching case!

Ultra-Whitening

Brighten up your smile with the Ultra-Whitening brush head! Its W-shaped bristle design increases the polishing area, making it perfect for users hoping for more powerful cleaning to whiten your teeth.

Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush: The Various Brushing Modes

Laifen offers three default modes to start you off with:

• Mode 1: Its low vibration strength is best suited for first-time users who do not have prior experience with electric toothbrushes. It is also the gentlest of the three and is great for sensitive teeth.
• Mode 2: As Mode 2 has a slightly stronger Vibration Strength and Oscillation Range and Speed than Mode 1, it is recommended for daily use, particularly for users seeking effective cleaning results.
• Mode 3: With all their features set at level 6, Mode 3 is the strongest of the three. This makes it suitable for users seeking plaque removal and whitening.

There’s no one-size-fits-all, even when it comes to your toothbrush! Everyone has different dental health concerns, and the same toothbrush might not work the same way for two people.

If you find the default brushing modes unsuitable for your gums and teeth, you can adjust the Vibration Strength, Oscillation Range, and Oscillation Speed to meet your dental care needs.

To switch brushing modes while brushing your teeth, press the power button twice. The toothbrush will light up accordingly to reflect the mode it’s on.

Additional Features To Elevate Your Brushing Experience

If you were ever unsure of whether you’re brushing your teeth right, these features of Laifen’s impressive electric toothbrush will wash all your uncertainties away!

When you switch on the 30s Reminder (left photo), your toothbrush will vibrate every 30 seconds to remind you to change your brushing location. This encourages a more balanced and equal coverage of different areas in your mouth.

There is also a timed Brushing Duration (right photo) feature, which is set to two minutes by default. This means that your toothbrush will be left switched on for two minutes before automatically entering Sleep Mode once those two minutes are up.

The Brushing Duration feature prevents over-brushing or draining out your battery if you accidentally switched it on.

You can adjust your Brushing Duration by shortening or lengthening it within a duration of one to five minutes. Laifen’s electric toothbrush also has a battery life of up to 30 days!

Navigating the Laifen Mobile App

To fully enjoy your Laifen toothbrush experience, download the Laifen mobile application on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and pair your electric toothbrush to the app.

The pairing process is relatively straightforward and fuss-free: all I had to do was switch on your toothbrush, ensure that my smartphone’s Bluetooth was turned on, and then select the correct device shown on the screen!

Once I paired my Laifen toothbrush to the app, I was taken to a page where I could toggle between the different brushing modes.

This was my first experience customising my brushing preferences on a mobile app, and I was worried I would struggle with the technical aspects of the app.

I was pleasantly surprised by the simple and intuitive user interface, which was straightforward and easy to navigate!

Customising Your Laifen Brushing Experience

As someone with sensitive gums and teeth, I prefer brushing with a lower vibration strength that is gentler on my gums.

When I first started using my old electric toothbrush, the vibrations were too strong for my liking. Everything changed when I met Laifen’s Wave Electric Toothbrush.

While I could not lower the vibrations of my old electric toothbrush and had to train myself to get used to it, I can now easily customise my brushing experience with Laifen’s toothbrush.
