Skincare:
1. Kopari
If you’re a big fan of coconut oil and the multitude of benefits it has for your skin, then Kopari is definitely the one for you. A coconut-powered lifestyle beauty brand, their range of products combines the superfood oil with high performance ingredients to create natural, luxurious products for your skin and hair.
Feeling a little apprehensive about the use of rich, moisturising coconut oil in our hot and humid weather? It’s actually a common assumption that oils (and beauty products containing said oils) are out of the question when you already have an oily complexion. Thankfully, we managed to grab a few minutes with Kopari founder Gigi Goldman to dispel this myth.
Kopari founder, Gigi Goldman
She says: “Think about where coconut oil is from. It’s in the Philippines, it’s from Hawaii… All of them are tropical regions, and the skin (of their residents) are beautiful and hydrated. Coconut oil has, in fact, been used for centuries in these climates. And it is precisely because of the superfood’s high fatty acid concentration that locks in the hydration to your skin, and it also has lots of good fats that are antimicrobial, making it super soothing and suitable for all skin types.”
It should also be noted that Kopari doesn’t just use coconut oil in their products— the whole coconut is utilised, in fact, to produce many of their best-selling products.
One of said best-selling products? The Kopari Coconut Rose Toner, which revitalizes and restores your skin’s natural balance all while reducing the appearance of pores. It also helps in keeping redness at bay, containing powerful antioxidants that soothes and calms skin without drying it out.
The Kopari Coconut Rose Toner is available at all Sephora outlets and retails for SGD42.
2. Tatcha
That’s right, cult Japanese skincare brand Tatcha is finally, finally arriving on our shores. Founded in 2009, the brand has successfully melded time honoured beauty practices and adapted them for our modern, fast-paced society. You don’t have to look far to find multiple glowing reviews for the brand— a quick glance over at Sephora’s site is testament enough to the effectiveness of their products.
Our pick has to be the Tatcha Water Cream, which provides nutrient-rich, cooling hydration all while clarifying and refining skin. This is done with the help of powerful Japanese botanicals, such as the Japanese Wild Rose and the Japanese Leopard Lily. The former tightens pores and smoothens skin texture, while the latter controls excess oil production.
The Tatcha Water Cream is available at all Sephora outlets and retails for SGD98.
3. Saturday Skin
Synonymous with all things weekend — and all the relaxing that comes with it — Saturday Skin is another cult beauty brand that has joined Sephora Singapore this year. The brand’s products are free of parabens, sulfates, artificial colours and fragrances, and also prides itself on having a wide variety of price points that allows for people of every budget to try out their products. Sounds like the best of both worlds to us!
Your skin is going to love the hydration the Saturday Skin Quench Intense Hydration Mask is going to give it. Formulated with hyaluronic acid as well as watermelon and aloe, it replenishes, refreshes, and leaves your skin looking radiant after.
The Saturday Skin Quench Intense Hydration Mask is available at all Sephora outlets and retails for SGD43 for 5 sheets.
