Luminous, dewy skin never goes out of style. We also know that maintaining radiance isn’t always easy, and that there are reasons why your skin is missing that so-called glow, whether it’s sun damage or daily stressors. Well, local skincare brand Rock & Herb has created two different moisturisers to help boost your overall glow: the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica and Enzyme Rescue.

Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica Enzyme Rescue 1

For those who are new to the brand, Rock & Herb formulates synergistic formulas that are inspired by nature and backed by modern science. Every product has been tested by dermatologists, and they’ve even got a seal of approval from doctors and scientists.

Although their products are made without ingredients that are unsafe for new mothers (pregnant and breastfeeding women), the brand doesn’t compromise on the effectiveness of their skincare products. Some of the biggest no-no ingredients include retinol, chemical SPF, and parabens, which have been shown to have a negative impact on newborns and infants.

To find out just how effective the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica and Enzyme Rescue moisturisers are, Daily Vanity has invited eight readers to give us their honest opinions about the products. You’ll be pleased to know that its average verdict for both moisturisers was a 4.3-star rating out of 5! Before we get into the reviews, let’s learn a little more about the two moisturisers.

About Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica & Enzyme Rescue

Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica 1

Whether you’re dealing with a dark mark left behind by a blemish, spots that indicate sun damage, or hormone-induced melasma, these unwanted changes in the skin all fall under the umbrella of hyperpigmentation. If you’ve been struggling to lighten them, try the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica.

The Brightening Angelica is a semi-gel moisturiser that brightens and evens out your skin tone, reduces dark spots, and combats ageing all at once. That’s thanks to a potent blend combination of vitamin B3 (niacinamide) and vitamin C, both of which are known for their skin-refining and brightening abilities. On top of that, there’s angelica dahurica extract and arbutin, which help to prevent the formation of melanin in your skin.

Rock & Herb Enzyme Rescue 1

If you have fresh acne scars that need help with healing and repairing, reach for the Rock & Herb Enzyme Rescue moisturiser. This creamy moisturiser is supercharged with a burst of vitamin C, vitamin E, and hyaluronic acid, so you’ll get glow-boosting benefits as well as a bump in hydration.

The stars of the show are the stabilised fruit enzymes papain and bromelain, which are derived from papaya and pineapple respectively. These enzymes are able to digest damaged protein, releasing new amino acids to nourish and repair your skin. This way, the moisturiser is able to gently exfoliate your skin while it repairs collagen.

Elana, 30

Skin type: Dry, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Dull skin, hyperpigmentation, dehydration, blackheads/whiteheads

Rock & Herb Review Before After Elana

Some of the moisturisers I used in the past were too sticky for my liking, which is why I like the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica and Enzyme Rescue creams. For my dry skin, I was told to use the Brightening Angelica in the morning to reduce hyperpigmentation and control pore size, and the Enzyme Rescue at night to repair and nourish my skin.

The Brightening Angelica felt really light and smooth – it didn’t leave my skin feeling sticky and it doesn’t have a strong scent. When I applied it on for the first time, my skin became slightly warm and flushed. However, after subsequent applications, my skin got used to it. After two weeks, my face felt so much more hydrated, soft to the touch, and it looked brighter!

The Enzyme Rescue cream went on smooth and silky, perfect for nighttime use. It has a rather strong herbaceous scent. When I woke up the next morning, my skin looked glowy and it kept my skin hydrated in the air-conditioned room. After two weeks, my skin felt softer, more supple and nourished. My skin texture looked more refined after using this product too.

It was an awesome two weeks of experience for me, and I could see and feel the results. Thank you, Rock & Herb!

Lynnett, 31

Skin type: Combination-dry skin
Skin concerns: Uneven skin tone, textured skin, dehydration

Rock & Herb Review Before After Lynnett

When I used the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica for the first time, my skin looked slightly brighter and felt more hydrated. After two weeks, my complexion looked even brighter and more radiant.

The Enzyme Rescue, on the other hand, made my skin feel softer after the first use. When I woke up the next morning, my skin didn’t feel as dry. After trying it out for two weeks, my skin looked and felt more supple, nourished, and youthful. On top of that, my skin healed faster from breakouts. I’m happy to say that my skin felt more hydrated and not as parched anymore. My acne scars seemed to have lightened too.

Overall, I think both moisturisers are agreeable to my skin as I didn’t experience any breakouts from using both daily. I recently fell on a road pavement and hurt my knee, and I even started using both the creams on the scar in hopes of helping it heal faster and also lightening the scar mark.

Melissa, 32

Skin type: Combination-oily skin
Skin concerns: Hyperpigmentation/dark spots, dehydration, clogged pores, blackheads/whiteheads

Rock & Herb Review Before After Melissa

Both moisturisers have a nice texture that absorbed easily without feeling greasy or sticky. When I used the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica in the morning for the first time, my skin seemed to look brighter. After two weeks, it felt softer and more supple. On top of that, my skin texture was smoother and my pores looked more refined. It kept my skin nice and hydrated throughout the day too.

I used the Enzyme Rescue at night, and when I wake up in the morning, my skin still feels hydrated. After two weeks, my face looked a lot more youthful, and my skin healed faster from breakouts. During the trial, I had a zit, but it disappeared after three or four nights thanks to the Enzyme Rescue.

Sarah-Cae, 25

Skin type: Combination-dry, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Textured skin, dehydration

Rock & Herb Review Before After Sarah

During the two-week trial, I used the Rock & Herb Enzyme Rescue as my daytime moisturiser and the Brightening Angelica as my nighttime moisturiser. I thought both moisturisers were packaged nicely and I liked that both came with a spatula.

The scent of the Enzyme Rescue was initially a bit too strong for my liking, but I got used to it after a while. Two weeks later, I noticed that my skin felt more nourished and looked more youthful. My skin felt more balanced and not as greasy throughout the day.

The smell of the Brightening Angelica was quite pleasant and fresh. After two weeks of use, I noticed that my skin didn’t feel as dry in the mornings. I’ve even received compliments from my family and friends on my skin after using these two creams.

While some moisturisers can feel too thick and oily on my skin, these are actually very hydrating and soothing. I like that they absorbed well and didn’t leave a sticky feeling on my face. My skin looked a little brighter and it felt calmer after two weeks.

Jade, 29

Skin type: Combination-oily skin
Skin concerns: Hyperpigmentation/dark spots, acne, eczema

Rock & Herb Review Before After Jade

As I have particularly sensitive, eczema-prone skin, I was advised to use only the Rock & Herb Enzyme Rescue cream. It has an earthy scent that takes a bit of getting used to, but I didn’t mind it because that’s what fruit enzymes are supposed to smell like.

I liked how lightweight yet nourishing the texture felt on my skin, so I used a tiny amount during the day and a bigger dollop at night. Air-conditioned rooms can really dry my skin out overnight, but this moisturiser kept it hydrated for hours, and I woke up to glowier skin.

After two weeks, I noticed a brighter, more radiant complexion. A few of my acne scars along my jawline had lightened considerably too. However, the eczema patch on my neck flared up during the trial, so I had to scale back on my usage to just once a night. Overall, I’m pleased with the brightening effects of the Enzyme Rescue.

Wei Xuan, 32

Skin type: Combination-dry skin
Skin concerns: Uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation/dark spots, visible/enlarged pores, blackheads/whiteheads, acne, ezcema

Rock & Herb Review Before After Wei Xuan

The first thing I noticed about both moisturisers was that the packaging looked elegant. The scent was pleasant as well, neither floral nor fruity – it was just nice.

After using the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica for the first time, my skin felt really hydrated after using it. After two weeks, my skin looked visibly brighter. I’d say this product has worked very well for my skin type and it’s the best moisturiser I’ve tried. My skin doesn’t break out as much as it used to, and I get fewer eczema flare-ups with this cream.

The Enzyme Rescue has a nourishing texture that made my skin feel really soft, and it looked glowy. After two weeks, my skin looked more youthful, and my skin texture was smoother and more refined. My skin looked more hydrated and felt smoother than before.

I have dark pigmentation along my jawline area due to eczema, and these products have helped to reduce them. I’m really pleased with the results!

Cheryl, 26

Skin type: Combination-dry, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Textured skin, dehydration, clogged pores, acne

Rock & Herb Review Before After Cheryl

For my sensitive skin, I was instructed to use the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica twice a day for one week, and swap it out for the Enzyme Rescue in the second week. Upon opening the jars, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they came with spatulas for hygiene purposes. However, both of the creams had a strong scent.

The Brightening Angelica has a silky, jelly-like, but non-sticky texture. After the first use, my skin looked visibly brighter and smoother after the first use. My skin’s texture also felt smoother and looked more refined. Two weeks later, my pigmentation had lightened, all without causing any irritation or clogging my pores. Plus, my skin didn’t break out as much as it used to.

The Enzyme Rescue has a velvety, gel-like texture that kept my skin hydrated. It even seemed to calm my acne down after the first use. I feel that my skin healed faster and my acne scars had faded considerably. In fact, makeup also goes on a lot smoother.

These two moisturisers are super effective at locking in moisture throughout the day. My skin definitely feels smoother and looks brighter. I’m happy to find something effective that works with my sensitive skin.

Shirlene, 29

Skin type: Combination-dry, sensitive skin
Skin concerns: Dull skin, clogged pores, acne

Rock & Herb Review Before After Shirlene

When I used the Rock & Herb Brightening Angelica for the first time, I noticed that it didn’t leave any residue on my skin. My skin felt refreshed, softer, and more supple. It even looked brighter and more radiant.

Likewise, the Enzyme Rescue didn’t leave any greasy residue on my skin. In fact, my skin texture looked smoother and more refined after using it. After two weeks, my skin looked brighter overall, and the moisturisers kept my blemishes at bay. I even received compliments from my family and friends on my skin.
