The Star Awards has to be Singapore’s most star-studded event of the year. This is also the period that every celebrity makeup artist and hairstylist get busy as they present the latest trends in hair and makeup on their clients’ looks of the night. In other words, if you want to have a peek at what’s hot and what’s not, these looks will probably give a good indication.

We stayed through the show to share with you some of the top looks we observed.

1. Lips: Light is lit

We hardly saw any dark-coloured lips that are usually associated with glitz and glamour. Celebrity makeup artists chose coral and pink tones for their clients’ lips and we love how these shades help accentuate the radiant skin of the celebrities.

ETUDE HOUSE ambassador, Krystal Jung, was an award presenter at the Star Awards 2017. We love how the coral-pink lipstick she’s wearing complement the bright yellow dress she has on. Lipstick of choice? We’re pretty sure it’s one of ETUDE HOUSE’s!

Quan Yifong’s daughter, Eleanor Lee, who brought the house to tears with a song dedicated to her mum, flaunted her cutesy looks with coral lip colour too.

Pink is another popular lip shade that helps make your complexion look more rosy. It’s hard to go wrong with it.

Rebecca Lim’s all-black outfit and sleek hairdo makes her pink lips take centre stage last night.

Jesseca Liu and Yahui also looked pretty in pink.

2. Brows: Bold is beautiful

Bold and dark brows are not going away. Celebrity makeup artists aren’t following the straight Korean brow trend blindly (you shouldn’t too!) but are going for soft arches that frame the faces of their clients so their features could stand out.

Bold brows with gentle arches were seen on Jeanette Aw, Carrie Wong, Sheila Sim, Kate Pang, and Tong Bing Yu.

3. Hair: Sleek is splendid

Big hair is not favoured at the Star Awards 2017 look-book. Centre-parted hair that’s sleeked down snugly is the preferred look last night. This was seen on Rebecca Lim, Carrie Wong, Pan Ling Ling, and Bonnie Loo.
