The “foundation mixing” hack

The “foundation mixing” hack was invented by Wayne Goss, a well-known makeup artist, as he was looking for a quick and simple foundation application technique.

In order to get his bright and dewy base look, he developed these four simple steps, one of which includes the golden ratio of a combination of skincare and makeup items.

Step 1: Use toner to boost your skin’s moisture levels

First, gently wipe the entire face with a hydrating toner using cotton pads to remove any dead skin cells and replenish the skin’s moisture level.

This creates a hydrated, slightly tacky base on which the foundation can adhere better to.

The highlight of the “foundation mixing” method is these magical numbers – the 1:1:1:2 ratio of combining primer, powder, cream, and liquid foundation.

You should also select the products according to your skin type or current skin condition.

This application method has gone viral for a good reason: it can apply the thinnest possible layer of foundation uniformly.

You won’t have to worry about your base makeup looking uneven with some parts of your face getting more coverage than others.

Pick up the foundation mixture using the spatula and drag it across your face in a 90° angle against the direction of your pores. For forehead, nose, and chin, drag it downwards, and for cheeks, upwards.
