pink complexion skin

Rosy cheeks are a sign of health and youth, and this is why while we hope to achieve fairer skin, we still wish to see a pinkish glow in our complexion. Unfortunately poor diet and stress attributed to our busy schedules can cause our skin to look pale and lifeless. As such, we lose that rosy glow, which indicate energy and youth. Yes, blushers can do wonders to how we look and to hide the look of pale, lifeless skin. But there are means to achieve rosy complexion naturally. Here are five ways!

1. Improve your skincare regime

Sometimes the reason for your lifeless skin may be due to an ineffective skincare regime. For rosy, glowing complexion, what you need are skincare products that can help relieve fatigue, provide moisture and offer a burst of anti-oxidants.

Consider the new ETUDE HOUSE PINK VITAL WATER, which is formulated with Pink Peach Water, a concoction of peach tree sprout extracts, vitamins A, C, and E, to infuse your skin with antioxidants and moisture.

Etude House PINK VITAL WATER SERUM (3)

The highlight of this new collection is the PINK VITAL WATER Serum, a water drop serum that spreads out as water droplets – just like a toner – and absorbs easily into the skin. It provides moisturising power that you’ll expect from a heavy-duty cream-based product, while retaining a light and refreshing texture. The collection also consists of a facial toner, an emulsion, an eye serum, a cream, and a wash-off pack.

Here’s how your rosy complexion regime can look like: After cleansing, apply the non-sticky and refreshing PINK VITAL WATER Facial Toner. Next, apply the Serum to deliver vitamins into your skin. Then, pat the Emulsion all over your face. This can promote a smooth and hydrated complexion. Tap the Eye Serum, a gel-textured eye solution, around your eyes to revitalise the area. Finally, finish off with the Cream, a pampering moisturiser that rejuvenates tired-looking skin. Once a week, apply the Wash-off Pack, and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water as an indulging booster.

The products’ prices range between SGD20.90 and SGD28.90, and is available at all ETUDE HOUSE stores.

2. Load up on anti-oxidants and vitamin C in your diet

Besides having regular meals, what goes into your meals are important too. Your skin is your largest organ, and obviously, the lack of nutrition can’t spell well for it. Make sure you have loaded up your diet with sufficient anti-oxidant and vitamin C. Consider snacking on berries or cherry tomatoes. These are healthy options to alleviate mid-day hunger pangs, and help you hit your daily vitamin quota. You can also consider infusing lemon into water to encourage more water intake, and to consume more vitamin C. To find out how to offer vitamins directly to your skin, don’t miss Tip #5.

3. Pump it up with exercise

A good workout helps you sweat it out – which is a good form of detoxification. Exercising also improves blood circulation, which will show up as a pinkish glow on your cheeks. If you can find time, hit the gym or go for a jog for at least 30 minutes. But if you can’t find time to head out, consider doing some body weight exercises at home. Doing repetitive sets of squats, lunges, sit-ups, and push-ups with very short breaks in between can help raise your heartbeat and work up a sweat.

4. Manage your stress

Are you feeling the heat recently from work or relationships? If things are getting a bit stressful, listen to your body and take a breather. It will be ideal if you can schedule a getaway, but if you can’t, there are other ways of coping too. Consider scheduling weekly appointments you will look forward to. It could be a spa booking, or dinner with a close friend you love spending time with; you can even schedule a “date” with yourself in a nice cafe to read a book over a cuppa. Planning weekly appointments that you enjoy give you something to be excited about every week.

5. Have sufficient sleep

The lack of sleep is one of the most common factors to pale and lifeless complexion. If you have trouble sleeping, consider drinking some warm milk during bed-time, do some light stretching, put on soothing music, and use home fragrances to calm yourself down, if needed. Having a proper ritual before bed-time helps give you a restful night.
