When it comes to Korean skincare, one thing we absolutely can’t overlook is their genuine love for sheet masks!

Sheet masks have become a favourite among beauty enthusiasts, adding a touch of luxury to their self-care routine, or serving as a quick fix or prep for various skin concerns.

The best part? They’re convenient, come in different price ranges, and offer a solution for a multitude of skin issues.

Whether you’re a seasoned sheet mask user or just starting to explore, here are four valuable tips from TikToker, @aylennpark, and her Korean mum to truly make the most of your sheet mask experience!

Sheet Mask Application Tips From a Korean Mum

Tip #1: Prep with Toner

Applying toner before using a sheet mask lets your skin fully absorb the mask’s serum, maximising its benefits.

Dab a small amount of toner onto your skin, opting for a soothing or hydrating toner to avoid over-drying.

Tip #2: Utilise Every Drop

Don’t discard the mask packaging right away. Squeeze any residual serum from the sachet and pat it onto your face for extra hydration.

You can also use it on other areas like your arms and legs.

Tip #3: Invest in a Silicone Cover

The recommended time for a sheet mask varies by brand and type, but typically it’s 15 to 20 minutes. If you keep the moisture locked in for longer, using silicone mask covers is a game changer!

With these covers, the sheet mask can stay moist for up to an hour. Plus, you can move around freely without worrying about it falling off!

Tip #4: Remove Before Complete Drying

The final tip is a bit of a common slip-up that many people tend to make when using sheet masks – taking off the mask when it’s completely dry!

Interestingly, doing so will have the opposite effect and suck away the moisture from your skin. Instead, it’s best to remove the sheet mask when it’s around 70% dry.

You can then use the leftover serum on the mask to hydrate your neck, arms, and legs once more.

Now that you’ve got the lowdown on making the most of your sheet masks, go ahead and explore which one suits your skin concerns the best!
