She wets a towel with warm water and applies it to her face, letting the warmth of the towel seep into the skin and open up the pores.

This helps remove impurities such as makeup, oil, and dirt. Hence, this step is an effective booster to your regular cleansing routine!

She Exfoliates Weekly

Apart from simply cleansing, this nifty steam massage trick can also be used to exfoliate the skin.

Since the warm towel already loosens the layer of dead skin that inevitably accumulates on your face, it’s a great first step before you exfoliate dead skin to reveal healthier skin underneath.

Yi-hyun applies a gentle, physical exfoliating scrub to her face before applying the towel, then uses the towel to gently massage the face and get rid of dead skin. She uses this trick once a week to prevent the buildup of dead skin cells.

Once your skin has been exfoliated, your skincare products will be able to penetrate deeply into your skin, so you can reap even more of their benefits!

She Cuts Down on Snacks

In another vlog where she discusses her diet tips, Yi-hyun notes that she rarely snacks, which helps her maintain her figure.

While it is important to eat regular, healthy meals, many of us turn to snacks to relieve stress or simply out of boredom, even when we aren’t really hungry!

Yi-hyun believes in being conscious of your body’s needs and eating when you’re actually hungry instead of snacking mindlessly.

If you need to scratch that itch, however, Yi-hyun suggests choosing healthy snacks. She personally enjoys snacks such as hardboiled eggs, almonds, and blueberries!

She Drinks Warm Water

This is a tip Yi-hyun is passionate about! She shares that she avoids cold water as much as possible, and drinks iced drinks very rarely.

Instead, she turns to hot water to hydrate herself. This is because warm or hot water is believed to help boost your metabolism, so you’ll burn calories more easily.

With a higher metabolism, you’ll lose weight easier, so staying in shape will be a breeze.

She Applies Sun Protection Diligently

This tip is particularly useful in Singapore’s tropical climate!

As part of her morning routine, Yi-hyun makes sure she never leaves the house without sunscreen on.

She notes that even if she doesn’t wash her face, sunscreen is a step in her routine that she’ll never miss.

Applying sunscreen regularly will protect your skin from the sun’s strong ultraviolet rays, so you’ll lower the risk of skin cancer, premature skin ageing, and sun damage. After all, nobody enjoys being sunburnt!

Yi-hyun’s go-to sunscreen is the Age 20’s Skin Fit Moist Up Sun Cream.

It’s an SPF50+ PA++++ sunscreen that simultaneously protects the skin from sun damage and keeps it moisturised throughout the day!

The Age 20’s Skin Fit Moist Up Sun Cream retails for S$31.17 on Shopee.
