Daily Vanity Logo

Just like makeup, hair plays an important role in creating an overall look. Plus, it’s the start of the new year – we’re pretty sure we’ve all itched with thoughts of trying something new to our locks for a change. Don’t want to splash that much time and money for a salon appointment?

Keep scrolling to see some of the best products for your hair that will save you a trip to the salon.

Hair colouring

Hair colouring services (without treatment) are usually available at around SGD160 if you have long hair. Consider these temporary options that offer amazing results at a fraction of the cost, especially if you are a chameleon who always changes up your hair look.

1. L’Oreal Paris Colorista

You’ve probably been seen this newly launched product shared on Instagram. This is a semi-permanent colour within a hair mask base (sounds luxurious already!)

Simply squeeze the colour onto gloved hand and massage onto hair until it’s saturated and leave it on for 15-20 minutes if you want a pastel shade, and 20-30 minutes for a vivid shade. Then, rinse off – and voila! – a new hair colour!

Best part? This is already a hair mask, so there’s no need to condition your hair.

The L’Oreal Paris Colorista is available in 13 shades and takes two weeks to slowly fade off.  It retails at SGD16.90 at all leading drugstores, and is offering SGD2 off as an introductory price!

2. Manic Panic Temporary Hair Dye

If you’ve always had an eye on the different beauty trends floating on the Internet, we’re sure this brand will be of some familiarity.

Manic Panic offers a multitude of shades ranging from Bad Boy Blue to Psychedelic Sunset and has gathered quite the fan base over the years. Available in many vibrant, sometimes outrageous colours, this is the product to consider if you are looking for a big hair change.

It retails at SGD28.20, but Lazada has a discount at time of writing.

Hair treatment

While home treatments may never be as pampering as the ones you receive in salons, they are definitely more convenient and affordable! Hair treatments are usually priced at approximately SGD100 and above.

3. Sephora Collection Hair Sleeping Mask

Sephora offers a collection of hair masks, one for every specific hair concern. The purchase even comes with an adorable cap – which you can pop on and head to bed, bringing a literal meaning to sleeping beauty!

The Sephora Collection Hair Sleeping Mask retails at SGD7 at Sephora.

4. Gloss Moderne Clean Luxury Travel Masque

This luxury hair mask moisturises hair while preserving its colour and extending the results of the treatments you’ve done previously. The product is formulated with all-natural, coconut oil, and can be used weekly, or even daily (if you love pampering yourself!)

It also has a beautiful scent you’ll fall in love with, making the treatment extra pampering.

It is available at SGD12 in travel size and SGD88 in full size, at Sephora.

Perfect bangs

We’ve all been tempted to rock bangs at several times in our lives, but may ultimately chicken out because we’re not sure if we could stay committed to regular trims. (We have a guide that helps you decide if you should go to your stylist and ask for bangs.)

But you don’t really need to make that decision if you invest in clip-on bangs. You’re welcome.

5. Moonar Clip On Bangs

This is made from synthetic hair but looks very natural. You can simply clip it on whenever you feel like it’s a “bangs day” or use to decide if you really want to go to the salon to make it permanent.

This retails at SGD4.60 but there’s a sale going on at Lazada.
