You probably associate Benefit Cosmetics with their huge selection of amazing brow products, as well as their brow bar service. However, it looks like one of their best-selling brow products is having issues and they had to be recalled.
The product we are talking about is the Gimme Brow brow gel. This is a tinted brow gel that helps volumise the appearance of your brows.
Benefit Cosmetics has reported in a statement on their website that they have voluntarily recalled Gimme Brow because they discovered that recent batches of the product did not meet their usual quality standards.
The brand said that while the product would not present any risk when used normally on the brows, if it comes into contact with eyes, it could cause irritation.
The full statement is as follows:
“Benefit Cosmetics is committed to the highest levels of quality and doing what’s right for our customers. Out of an abundance of caution, we are initiating a voluntary recall of our Gimme Brow product after discovering that recent batches of the product did not meet our stringent quality standards.
If applied in its normal usage on the brows, the Gimme Brow product doesn’t involve any risk. However, if it comes into contact with the eyes, it could lead to eye irritation.
We recommend that you stop using the product. For a full refund of the Gimme Brow product, please return it to your original place of purchase.”
What does Benefit Cosmetics Singapore say?
Daily Vanity has reached out to Benefit Cosmetics Singapore and a representative shared that because of the recall, customers will not be able to purchase Gimme Brow for some time.
The representative shared that to exercise absolute caution and as a commitment to their high quality standards, they have “decided to do the voluntary recall of all units of Gimme Brow”. They assured that no other Benefit products are affected.
“But we are working very hard to bring (Gimme Brow) back as soon as possible as we know that it’s a hot favourite among local benebabes,” the representative shares with Daily Vanity.
We asked Benefit Cosmetics Singapore when they would expect stocks to be back. Unfortunately, they do not have an estimation on when, but promised to announce it once they are back. They said that you can also check back to their website for regular updates.
Daily Vanity notes that news of the recall has been posted on their website, but not on their Facebook page at the time of writing.
