Dimples are a natural feature that gives one a cheeky, youthful look.

Just look at our favourite K-pop idols like Red Velvet’s Joy, BTS’s RM, and ITZY’s Ryujin. How charming are those smiles?

Unfortunately, not all of us are born with these little crescent dents. But dimple or no dimple, your smile is still as gorgeous and adorable.

If you’re looking to do a little makeup experiment, however, this trending TikTok hack creates the illusion of dimples in just a few simple steps.

“Fake dimples” hack

If you search “fake dimples” on TikTok, you might see various videos of people putting bottle caps in their mouths or even using pens and chopsticks to poke the outside of their cheeks.

However, this hack is different. It simply uses makeup to create subtle definitions near the corners of your mouth.

There are different methods to get the look. Some users skip concealer and focus just on drawing a line of contour to create a “dented” illusion, while others surround a line of contour with concealer to accentuate the shadow.

Though all methods work, we think that method that creates the most defined result would be one by TikTok user @serenalakkiss.

This method requires you to use a concealer that is a few shades darker than your skin tone and an eyebrow pencil to give you a defined dimple look.

Read on to find out how you can achieve this look.

How to do the “fake dimples” hack

Step 1: Draw two curves with a concealer that’s darker than your natural skin tone

Get a liquid concealer that is about two to three shades darker than your natural skin tone.

Draw a small curve near the corner of your mouth and blend it out with your finger.

Because the concealer you are applying is a few shades darker than your skin tone, you’ll be creating a natural shadow where the concealer is applied.

Step 2: Draw two curved lines over the curves using an eyebrow pencil

Take a brown eyebrow pencil and draw two curved lines over the concealer you just applied.

Blend everything out with your finger or makeup sponge.

These two lines will make the shadow appear more defined which gives off the illusion that you have a deep dent in your skin.

Now you have the perfect dimpled look!
