Jennie Kim looks so fresh every time we see her (on our social media), it leaves us wondering how she takes care of herself and her body, so she looks this good seemingly all the time.

Great news, because Jennie just posted a new YouTube video on her channel, giving us the inside scoop on her self-care routine and the products that she uses.

Sitting casually in her home – a spacious, high-ceiling interior with floor-to-ceiling windows and a picture of Jennie herself framed on the wall – Jennie brings her fans step-by-step through her night-time routine.

We’re here to share six super useful self-care that you can pick up from the beautiful star herself, and reveal what these products are!

Roll out your muscles at the end of the day

Since Jennie Kim models for brands like Chanel, Hera, and Calvin Klein, and is almost certainly training hard in preparation for Blackpink’s anticipated comeback album this year, it’s no wonder that rolling out her muscles are an important part of her self-care routine.

Jennie uses a foam roller to ease her tired muscles, placing the foam roller on a yoga mat, and rolling to stretch her “back, shoulder, neck, and everywhere else”. The foam roller that she uses is a pretty turquoise shade.

If you want to follow in Jennie’s footsteps and stretch out your muscles while you’re winding down at the end of the day, then why not also use the same foam roller that she uses, the Lululemon Double Roller?

Funnily enough, after she’d just put the foam roller back down onto the floor in the video, Jennie paused in surprise. There was another roller placed within her foam roller, and she had just discovered it. It’s a good thing she did, because it gave a clue to where she got her foam roller from.

Jennie also introduced another body massager that she uses, particularly to relax her cramped thighs, and we recognise it as the ReFa For Body Massager. A lymphatic massager that uses micro-current technology, the ReFa For Body Massager can be used on the shoulders, neck, along the sides of your body, and thighs to firm your skin.

You might not be training for a K-pop album release, but you’ll have tensed muscles to roll out nonetheless. Release the knots in your muscles, improve blood circulation, and experience a boost of endorphins that’ll help you enjoy a better night’s rest too.

Massage your scalp to relieve stress

After the foam roller, the next item that Jennie picked up was a scalp massager – the ReFa Grace Head Spa, to be exact. She explained that her mum “always used to say, you have to take care of your scalp” and even got Jennie the scalp massager that she’s using now.

Holding the scalp massager against her scalp, above her ear and near her hairline, Jennie said, “It feels really good if I massage this part when I’m stressed”. She also puts a couple of drops of aroma oil whilst using the scalp massager to soothe her senses even more.

Massaging the scalp doesn’t just help you to relax (we hold lots of tension at our hairline and behind our ears), it’s also posited to help with hair growth. Studies have shown that a scalp massage stimulates the hair follicles and stretches them so that they produce thicker hair. It also improves blood circulation, so that your hair follicles receive more oxygen and nutrients for healthy hair growth!

We’ll never know if Jennie Kim’s beautiful, flowing tresses are due to her long-time habit of massaging her scalp, but we’re guessing that it plays a part.

ReFa’s Grace Head Spa is designed with Quatro 3D Electric Rollers to mimic the circular thumb kneading of a professional therapist. It’s water-resistant too, so it’s safe to use in the tub or while shampooing.

Exfoliate your lips for a supple pout

Jennie has to change her lip products for each cut during her photoshoots, and so she uses wet tissues to wipe her lips each time she has to do so. She said that this damages her lips, which is why she likes to take care of her pout using a lip scrub.

The one that she holds up to the camera is the LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub. The K-pop star chirped that it smells like bubblegum – after all, it’s only right to have a deliciously-scented lip scrub to help you wear a yummier pout.

Lip scrubs work to buff away dry skin and reveal smoother skin that’s underneath, at the same time restoring the softness of your lips. LUSH’s Bubblegum Lip Scrub is made with castor sugar to exfoliate your lips, and organic jojoba oil to give your lips an intense moisture boost!

Use a body scrub for softer skin

“I do tend to have soft skin,” Jennie said with a sheepish grin, “It’s because I took care of it.”

And, how does she do so? She uses the Nuxe Reve de Miel Deliciously Nourishing Body Scrub to exfoliate her body. This body scrub brims with rich honey and sugar crystals to gently scrub dead cells and other impurities from the skin’s surface. It’s also infused with sunflower, argan and borage oils to cover the skin in a nourishing, hydrating veil.

Body scrubs are mechanical exfoliants that help to remove the dead skin cells and unclog pores, leaving you with skin that’s smoother and more even. So, if you’re hoping to have skin as soft and milky as Jennie’s, then it’s time to start incorporating a moisturising body scrub into your own daily self-care routine!

Integrate scents for an elevated pampering experience

Using products that have delightful scents is a simple way to turn your regular nighttime routine into a relaxing, pampering experience.

Jennie loves products with a citrus scent. She was recently introduced to Tamburin’s Bigalico Showery Body Wash and Lotion, which both boast a soft bitter orange scent, paired with notes of cedarwood as well as sweet ricocheted rice.

While Tamburin’s Bigalico Showery Body Lotion was the brand’s gift to her, she used so much of it that she bought a new one for herself – that’s how good the scent is to her.

FYI: Besides a great scent, her body lotion must-haves are a texture that’s just thick enough, and buttery with lots of moisture in it. She also prefers a subtle scent to one that’s overpowering, and the Tamburin Bigalico Showery Body Lotion checks all those boxes.

We’re going to be taking a leaf out of Jennie’s book and elevating the mundane into the extraordinary, with aromatic body washes and lotions as our new best friends.

Unfortunately, the Tamburin Bigalico Showery Body Wash and Lotion isn’t available in Singapore. However, you might fall in love with Bath & Body Works’ aromatherapy citrus Orange Ginger Body Lotion, which is a great alternative to stock your bathroom shelves with.

The Orange Ginger Body Lotion rings with invigorating citrusy and slightly spicy notes, to energise you whilst deeply nourishing your skin when you’re fresh out of the shower.

Shop Bath & Body Works Orange Ginger Body Lotion for S$30 at Bath & Body Works stores, or for S$24.99 on Shopee.

Ground yourself with familiar fragrances

Fragrance can play many roles in your self-care routine, as Jennie shows us.

Besides delighting her senses, fragrances also help her to anchor amidst a lifestyle of constant change and travel. She revealed that she tends to bring incense sticks with her when she goes overseas, and sit down to meditate as they burn.

“I’m always moving to different places wherever I go, and I always feel away from home,” she explained, “so it feels good to be surrounded by the same scent.”

If a feeling of being frazzled threatens to overwhelm you, then you can try what this Korean star does on the go: snap your lighter on, let the incense sticks burn, and take deep breaths in… and out… to ground yourself once more.

Jennie uses the Nice Ghost Club Angel Incense Holder to hold her Sai Baba Satya Nag Champa Agarbatti Incense Sticks, which you can shop in Singapore too.
