LVMH, French multinational corporation and conglomerate that specialises in luxury goods, announced that they will be using their perfume and cosmetics factories to manufacture hydroalcoholic gel that can be used for hand sanitiser. This decision comes in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected France seriously.

The French government has just imposed lockdown, as a way to slow down the spread of COVID-19. In France the coronavirus infected more than 6,600 and killed 148 people.

Lvmh Factories Hand Sanitiser

LVMH’s factories that produce perfume and makeup for luxury brands like Christian Dior and Givenchy had started making hand sanitiser starting yesterday (16 March 2020). The hand sanitiser will be delivered for free to French authorities, as well as the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris. The latter is the largest hospital system in Europe.

The company said in a statement that they intend to help address the risk of a lack of product in France, and to enable a larger number of people to continue to protect themselves from the spread of the virus with the right action. The company also said that they will continue to honour this commitment for as long as necessary, in connection with the health authorities in France.
