Reviews are always welcomed whenever we’re considering a serious beauty purchase. As one of the largest beauty retailers in Singapore, Sephora definitely can give us an indication of what’s hot and what’s not.

To help you figure out what everyone is buying, we’ve put together a list of 10 products that were rated one of Sephora bestsellers in July; hopefully one of these will be your next holy grail item!

1. Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette

What it is: This is the ultimate contour kit with three shades of highlight powders and contour powders, making it suitable for a wide range of skin tones.

Price: SGD73. Get it here.

What reviews say: This KVD palette features high-quality shades that will help you enhance your natural cheekbones and other facial features. The finely milled powders make blending easy even for contour-beginners. Since these six shades are so pigmented, a little goes a long way, which means this palette offers great value for money. Another plus: its shade range will please users of skin tones from fair to deep, making it a truly universal product. For shades that may be too light or dark for your skin tone, you may use them as eyeshadow to get your money’s worth!

2. Pixi Glow Tonic

What it is: A toner with 5% glycolic acid to gently exfoliate your skin and reveal a brighter, glowing complexion.

Price: SGD45 for 250ml (full-sized). This popular product is out of stock at the time of writing, but check it out here to see if you’re lucky enough to get hold of it, or you can add yourself to its waiting list.

What reviews say: Many users claim that they saw results in just a few applications – skin appeared noticeably smoother and clearer within days. True to its name, this toner gives users a visible glow while evening out one’s skin tone. It’s also suitable for those with sensitive skin, since its ingredients are not too harsh or irritating. However, a couple of users have had the opposite experience with this toner, either experiencing breakouts or not seeing any visible difference in their complexion.

3. Zoeva Rose Golden Complete Set Vol. 1

What it is: A curated set of 15 brushes (seven face brushes, eight eye brushes) in matte black handles and rose gold ferrules. They come in a brown brush clutch.

Price: SGD130. Get it here.

What reviews say: With brushes soft to the touch and pretty to look at, it’s not surprising that this makes the list of Sephora bestsellers. This is a good brush set for either beginners who want to invest in a good set of brushes or enthusiasts who want to expand their collection. Any makeup look can be easily completed with this handy brush set, which offer great value-for money.

4. Sephora Collection Bubble Bath Shower Gel

What it is: A moisturising and cleansing shower gel that can be applied directly to skin or added to a running bath to create bubbles.

Price: SGD16. Get it here.

What reviews say: Sephora offers six different scents for this shower gel, all of which smell lovely and are long-lasting on the skin. The funky packaging on this product will jazz up any bathroom and add a pop of colour to brighten up your day too! The only negative thing about these gels is that each bottle doesn’t contain that much product for its price point.

5. Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette

What it is: 12 all-matte Amazonian clay-infused, long-wear eyeshadows in a range of lid, crease, and liner shades.

Price: SGD72. Get it here.

What reviews say: Amazonian clay and eyeshadow are the two things Tarte does best, so put them together and we’ve got a holy grail product on our hands, as expected. Pigmented, creamy shadows blend flawlessly on the eyes in neutral tones, easily taking any user from day to night with simple touch-ups. As a matte palette, Tarte’s Tartelette is versatile and we believe will remain a fan favourite for a long time to come.

6. Caudalie Beauty Elixir

What it is: A do-it-all mist that can be used as toner, makeup primer, setting spray, and even aftershave for men.

Price: SGD69 for 100ml (full-sized). Get it here.

What reviews say: While its scent is polarising for users, many agree that the Beauty Elixir is hydrating and refreshing when spritzed on the face. Some also claim that it reduces the appearance of pores! The nozzle on the bottle makes this mist perfect as a setting spray, since the fine mist covers the whole face easily. As a bonus, this spray reduces any cakiness that may result from your makeup throughout the day.

7. TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer

What it is: A 3-in-1 highlighting powder, eyeshadow, and shimmer powder in a honey hue.

Price: SGD36.90. Get it here.

What reviews say: A little definitely goes a long way with this highly pigmented powder. You can use this to add a subtle highlight to your face or build it up to a blinding shimmer. However, some have complained that the shimmer in this powder emphasised the texture of their skin. Also, this compact doesn’t travel well as the product breaks easily.

8. Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser with Aloe Vera

What it is: A 3-in-1 cleanser that removes makeup, hydrates skin, and tones skin.

Price: SGD50. Get it here.

What reviews say: This cleanser is the perfect travel companion since it is multi-purpose (suitable even for those of us who get too lazy to double-cleanse sometimes!). It does not dry out the skin like some other cleansers do, and some users have noticed improvements in their acne-prone skin with extended use. As a mild cleanser, however, some found that their makeup was not effectively removed with this product.

9. CoverFX Custom Cover Drops

What it is: Concentrated pigment drops that can be combined with moisturisers, serums, oils, primers, and foundations to achieve the coverage of your choice.

Price: SGD68. Get it here.

What reviews say: These drops come in 25 shades, making them truly customisable for any skin tone. They are very handy when you want to lighten or darken any existing foundations, or if you want to customise the finish of your foundation (add to moisturisers for hydration, or to oils for a naturally dewy effect). Sadly, this product seems to be not suitable for those with dry skin since dry patches tend to be enhanced. It’s also pretty pricey for its small size, so factor that into consideration.

10. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

What it is: An oil-free moisturiser that’s dermatologist-approved and safe for all skin types.

Price: SGD60 for 125ml (full-sized). Get it here.

What reviews say: Another holy grail beauty item is this offering from Clinique, which is quickly absorbed into the skin and does not leave a sticky residue. Many users observed that their skin felt smooth, matte, and softer than before. However, a couple of disappointed users felt that their skin felt greasier after use. If possible, ask for a sample of this product to see if it suits your skin type!
