Matte lipsticks have become all the rage in the past couple of years. Almost every brand out there have released their own signature range of lipsticks with matte finishes, so where should you even begin? We round up some of the most try-worthy matte lipstick ranges in the market, that are also under SGD30!
1. L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipsticks
This range of lipsticks have been around for many years now, even before the matte lip trend reached its full swing, but its popularity shows no sign of slowing down just yet.
The L’Oreal Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick packs in jojoba oil, Omega-3 oils and Vitamin E to make good on its promise to deliver intense hydration for your lips even while providing a beautiful velvety-matte finish.

2. Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick
This classic range from Rimmel has gone through a revamp and reformulation! The Only 1 Matte lipsticks are known to provide long-lasting wear that doesn’t grieve your lips or suck the moisture out of them.
An online reviewer described the new texture of this lipstick as being creamy and satin, that “applies easily on the lips without tugging”. The wear time is about five hours, and some shades like The Matte Factor also leave behind a stain.
The shades, left to right:

Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks retail for SGD 18.90 each at selected Watsons stores.
3. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams have been the holy grail matte lipsticks for many beauty gurus around the world. Released almost seven years ago, the lip creams quickly gained cult favourite status and have now become a staple in the NYX line-up.
These lip creams are known for every benefit that lip junkies could possible ask for: they’re transfer-proof, they’re super affordable, they have a hydrating, moussey texture but dry down to a velvet matte finish, and they’re extremely comfortable to wear. Best of all, they come in a whopping selection of 34 shades, so there’s truly something for everyone here.
Do take note that only 24 shades are available at Sephora, and the shades not available there are: Athens, Budapest, Buenos Aires, Cairo, Copenhagen, Dubai, London, Rome, Seoul, and Transylvania.
All 34 shades are available at NYX boutiques.
4. Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip
Colourpop has made waves with their liquid lipstick collections so far, but they weren’t without issues. While Ultra Matte was transfer-proof, it was commonly felt to be very drying on the lips. Ultra Satin was a hydrating texture, but it stained everything it touched.
Enter their latest release, the Ultra Blotted Lip collection, which combines the best of both worlds. It dries down to a matte finish and was powerfully budge-proof like a matte lipstick, but felt comfortable and non-drying on the lips. There’s a good reason why the entire collection is currently sold out on their website.
The shades, from top to bottom:
- Double Scoop: light coral
- Doozy: warm rose
- Slide: dusty pink
- Zuma: warm rosey mauve
- Out of Beach: bright coral
- Bit-O Sunny: warm fuchsia
- Split: berry
- Cherry On Top: deep plum
5. Mamonde True Color Lipsticks
Mamonde opened its digital doors on Lazada earlier this year, but though they carried their signature Highlight Lip Tint, they didn’t carry the fan favourite range of True Color Lipsticks. If you’re wondering what the name is all about, it’s said that the colour of the lipstick truly matches the intensity and vividness of the colour as shown on the tube. The lip colour is not only vivid, but apparently also has impressive staying power, and even stains the lips for a longer wear.
Luckily for Mamonde fans everywhere, they have just opened their first physical counter at the newly renovated Tangs Vivocity which now boasts a wide variety of products that were previously unavailable in Singapore, including the True Color Lipsticks!
Mamonde True Color Lipsticks retail at SGD 24 each at Mamonde counters.
6. Top up SGD8: Lancome Matte Shakers
The Lancome Juicy Shakers took the beauty world by storm when they first came out. It utilised a bi-phase technology which had never been used in that way before.
The new Matte Shakers may not be under SGD30, but hey, top up SGD8 and you can get this lippie in cute packaging, and with a matte liquid formula that is meant to feel as comfortable and non-drying on the lips as its predecessors.
Lancome Matte Shakers retail for SGD 38 each at Lancome counters, Sephora and on Sephora.sg.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
