Put aside your scrunchies, the claw clip has made its way back into the spotlight! Once viewed as outdated and even grandmotherly, trendsetters like international supermodels Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie made this basic accessory stylish once again.

How to create the claw clip styles seen above
What you’ll need
- Comb (or fingers!)
- Claw clip
- Hairspray (optional)
Directions
- Using a comb or your fingers, part your hair. While this look is usually worn with a middle part, it’s known to be particularly flattering on round, square, heart, and oval faces. Oblong and diamond face shapes may prefer an off-centre, or side part to shorten the face.
- Gather all your hair at the nape of your neck, then slowly twist your hair while pulling it upwards to the crown of your head. Individuals with longer hair may need to fold the remaining length downwards beside the coiled section.
- Clip your hair in place using the claw clip. You may need a larger or smaller clip depending on your hair thickness and length!
- Finish off with hairspray to lock the style in place, and tease out a few strands of hair around your face for the effortless look. Or, for a super slick look à la Bella Hadid, use a strong hold hair gel to smooth hair flat against your scalp.
A bonus perk to this office-friendly look is that you’ll have defined, natural waves ready for a night out once you release the clip. Ready to try this one out? Here are a few of our favourite ones to add to your shopping cart too!

Tortoiseshell pattern hair claw
Refrain from basic shades like black and navy as they can make your look dated instead of trendy. Instead, for a chicer option that’s still work-ready, opt for a subtle tortoiseshell pattern like in this one. Note: this looks similar to the one BLACKPINK’s Jennie wore.
