Fortunately for us, there’s a new massage technique that’s currently hot in Japan and promises to slim your legs by 7cm in a month.
But how can we perform this miracle massage technique, and how exactly does it work? Keep reading for all the information!
The logic behind this slimming massage routine
While we constantly blame excessive food intake for our chunkier thighs, the culprit may actually be poor lymphatic circulation.
Popular Japanese beauty writer Miss Chiba originally hypothesised that extra water cannot be retrieved or metabolised when the lymph nodes in the legs are obstructed, resulting in a buildup of water.
Edema, or the visible swelling caused by fluid buildup in body tissues, is what this is. It may result in impaired blood flow, which interferes with fat burning.
This led to the development of a massage technique that consists of a sequence of six movements which can be performed 20 times per day for a total of 10 minutes.
Some Japanese online users have reported obvious success with this practice, with some claiming to have lost 7cm in four weeks.
How to perform the slimming massage
Step 1: Press the thigh
Start the first phase of this slimming massage technique after evenly applying body lotion to both of your legs.
Simply massage your thigh several times for about 20 times using the palm of your hand.
Step 2: Foot massage
On the sole of your feet, press down with both thumbs from the heel all the way to the toes.
This action can increase blood circulation and relieve pressure on the legs throughout the day.
Step 3: Massage the ankle
The third set of movements involves massaging the ankle up and down and back and forth using your thumb and index finger knuckle. Perform this action around 20 times to complete a set.
Step 4: Focus on the calf
Apply some extra body lotion after that, then with your thumb, squeeze the rear of the calf toward the back of the knee.
If your skin is excessively dry, don’t be hesitant to add more body lotion because lubrication is key here.
Step 5: Weight-bearing massage
Apply pressure gradually as you massage to stimulate the acupoints on your leg.
One hand forms a fist while the other hand opens its five fingers over the fist. From your knee to your hips, firmly press down.
Step 6: Soothing relaxation
The last motion is a soothing one. To loosen up your muscles, continuously knead the base of your thigh with both hands.
This motion can aid with the issue of inadequate lymphatic circulation. You have completed your massage routine since this is the last step!
