From concierge services to virtual consultations, our favourite beauty brands turned to innovative ways to stay in touch with us through the Circuit Breaker and Phase 1. Now that Phase 2 is about to begin, our beloved brands are ready to welcome us back – with a few changes in store, that is.

Here’s what a few beauty brands will be implementing to make their grand reopening a much safer one for all of us.

1. Sephora

Missed browsing the aisles of Sephora stores? We’ve got great news to share. Sephora is bringing us a new shopping experience when their stores reopen on 19 June! Before you step into a Sephora store, you’ll be required to take your temperature, check-in using the SafeEntry system, and sanitise your hands. Be sure to maintain one-metre of social distancing when you shop in-store too.

Here are the virtual innovations you can expect to see when you visit Sephora.

Scan to Interact

While testers are no longer available in stores, Sephora has a new Scan to Interact feature that provides useful information on your selected product, such as reviews and ratings. Simply access this feature in-app and use your phone camera to scan the bar code of the product you’re interested in. Its information should pop up on your phone screen fast.

Sephora Virtual Artist

As part of Sephora’s hygiene guidelines, Sephora staff will have to adhere to a strict ‘No-Touch’ policy, where they are not able to apply products on customers. However, there’s the new in-app Virtual Artist, which allows you to try on hundreds of makeup products virtually. You can also find your foundation shade via the Sephora Shade Finder. Once you’ve decided to make a purchase, just tap on ‘click to buy’ to get all your items.

Virtual Services

If you’d like to speak to Sephora’s beauty experts before you make a purchase, try Sephora’s Virtual Services for a personalised video chat on all things beauty! You can also enjoy a complimentary one-on-one skincare or makeup consultation session with one of the brand’s beauty experts. To book a slot, visit Sephora’s website or app.

2. Laneige

K-beauty fans rejoice! Laneige will be opening all its stores and counters on 19 June. Based on the size of each store, the brand will arrange the number of beauty advisors at every shop. To ensure the health and safety of the public, beauty advisors will be taking their own temperatures twice a day.

Before entering a Laneige store, you’re required to have your temperature taken by the staff. Make sure you scan the SafeEntry QR code to log your entry and hit the “check-out” button when you exit the store. There will be restrictions on the number of people entering the store.

Sachet samples available

Hand sanitiser will be provided in-store for all customers to use. All testers have been removed from the stores, but if you’d like to try a skincare product, Laneige will provide sachet samples upon your request. You may want to pick up the Water Bank Sherbet Cream, a cooling formula that refreshes and relieves the skin from the heat.

If you’re queuing to make a purchase, remember to stand one metre apart. Queue poles will also be placed outside the stores if it reaches the maximum capacity.

3. THEFACESHOP

Fans of THEFACESHOP will have something to look forward to! All of the brand’s stores will reopen on 19 June, with operating hours differing from store-to-store. Depending on the size of the store, there will be between one to three staff members per shift. The staff will limit the number of customers entering the store too.

For contact tracing purposes, all customers will be encouraged to check-in and checkout using the SafeEntry QR Code. If you’re not feeling well, you’ll be advised to leave the store. Apart from wearing your face mask, you’ll also have to sanitise your hands before entering and leaving.

In line with the brand’s hygiene measures, THEFACESHOP’s staff will wipe down high-touch surfaces every three to four hours, as well as sanitise shopping baskets after each use. Product testers have been removed while makeup services will be put on hold until further notice.

Aside from implementing a one-metre spacing rule for queues in all stores, the staff will politely prompt customers to observe social distancing too. Posters will be put up to remind customers of the various safety measures to make your shopping experience a pleasant one.

4. IDS Aesthetics

Hand sanitisers will also be provided at the counters, so you can use them before and after a treatment.

IDS has removed common sharing items like testers and magazines at the waiting area. Therapists will don protective gear when they’re interacting with customers while treatment rooms will be wiped down after every procedure. The brand will also ensure safe distancing for customers seated in the waiting area.
