Tired of the same old conventional beauty products, or want to find something quirky to gift your friend who’s a hardcore beauty junkie? You’re reading the right article!

We’ve found some of the strangest, wackiest, and possibly effective beauty products in the world to share with you, and trust us – you’ll be tempted to try at least one item on this list.

1. A’Pieu Wasabiya Lip Plumper

A’pieu Wasabiya Lip Plumper

If getting lips as plump as Kylie Jenner is one of your lifelong dreams, here’s a product that can instantly give you fuller lips without the need for Botox injections.

Containing Wasabia Japonica Root Extract, otherwise known as wasabi, this product not only gives a temporary plumping effect, but also contains antioxidant and antimicrobial benefits that are good for your lips. It comes in two different colours, clear and pink.

According to online reviews, there’s not much of a taste in this wasabi lip plumper, but it does come with a peppery citrus scent that you can taste a slight tinge of – almost as though you’re applying wasabi on your lips!

2. Fullips Lip Plumping Enhancer

Weird Beauty Products Fullips Lip Plumping Enhancer

If wasabi on your lips doesn’t sound very appealing, you can also try this hard plastic device that uses self-suction to enhance your lip fullness.

Simply put the opening of the product over your mouth, gently suck in for 15-30 second increments, and you’ll get full lips that last any time between one to four hours.

3. Mala Toothpaste

Weird Beauty Products Mala Toothpaste

This is one toothpaste that mala fans will absolutely love.

Chinese toothpaste company Leng Suan Ling partnered with hot pot chain Xiao Long Kan to release this limited edition mala-flavoured toothpaste. The toothpaste comes in three levels of spiciness – mildly spicy, medium spicy, and “perversely“ spicy (bian tai la) – and a set of three costs CNY9.99 (around SGD19.70).

If you are wondering whether this can really feed your mala addiction, you’ll be excited to know that many satisfied customers have attested to the spiciness of the toothpaste – one even said that the toothpaste had a numbing effect, much like the original mala sauce.

Unfortunately, all 4000 sets were snapped up after the release, so it is currently out of stock on Taobao. That being said, there is a possibility that this mala toothpaste may be restocked in future, so keep your eyes peeled!

4. Bacon Addicts Bacon Flavor Toothpaste Flavored Tooth Paste

Weird Beauty Products Bacons Addicts Bacon Flavor Toothpaste Flavored Tooth Paste

For the ones that can’t take the heat, check out this one that tastes like bacon!

In all seriousness, the official Bacon Addicts’ website details the difficulty of using a strip of fried bacon to brush your teeth – it breaks apart if it’s too crisp, and is ineffective in removing any plaque if it’s too limp. Hence, the perfect way to keep your teeth and gums healthy while delighting in the delicious flavour of smokey meat is none other than this unique toothpaste.

It is currently sold out on Bacon Addicts’ website and Amazon – we suggest keeping tabs on these pages so that you can snag this quirky toothpaste when it is back in stock!

While it is inspired by the genuine scent of sumo wrestlers, it is based on the hair oil that they use, so what you get is a delightful mix of eucalyptus, anise, violet, heliotrope, musk, patchouli, and sandalwood.

The gender-neutral perfume has even garnered a decent rating of 3.58 out of 5 on Fragantica, with reviewers saying that they were quite impressed by how fresh and unique this smells!

16. Tony Moly Haeyo Mayo Hair Nutrition Pack

We like our mayonnaise in our egg sandwiches, but on our hair? Uhh….
