Multipurpose beauty hacks and tips can be great at making your life a little easier, which is particularly handy on exhausting days when you just want to collapse on the sofa.
Fortunately, lazy Redditors from r/AsianBeauty feel the same way as they’ve recently shared many tips that are totally perfect for shortening beauty steps.
We’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of the best lazy beauty tips so that when the time does come, we can prepare ourselves a lot sooner for that well-deserved nap.
- Cleansing only with water every morning
- Wash your face and brush your teeth in the shower
- Pouring your toner into a mist bottle for easy application
- Applying only a mist and sunscreen
- Using products that work for both the body and face
- Slapping on a one-minute sheet mask that replaces every skincare step
- Incorporating makeup or moisturiser with SPF
- Adding colour using only lip and cheek tints
- Skip the exfoliating washcloth with a BHA-infused body wash
- Use scented body cream or deodorant instead of perfume
Cleansing only with water every morning
Many Redditors shared that instead of using a facial cleanser every morning, they only use water to wash their face, which is a skincare tip that has been blowing up lately.
However, they still make sure to use the double-cleansing method to thoroughly remove impurities at the end of the day, regardless of how lazy they feel.
Wash your face and brush your teeth in the shower
If you always take morning showers, you might be able to save some time by washing your face and brushing your teeth while you are lathering up your hair and body.
However, you might want to skip this tip if you shower in hot water as it could potentially be more irritating.
Pouring your toner into a mist bottle for easy application
Although not every toner comes in a mist bottle, we must admit that we have a soft spot for those that do – all you need to do is give your face a few spritzes, and you’re done.
So, by having your toner in a mist bottle, you not only prevent the chance of liquid spilling everywhere, but you also save time on patting it dry.
Applying only a mist and sunscreen
We were surprised to hear that one Redditor shortened their routine to only a mist and a sunscreen – talk about saving time and product.
After water cleansing in the morning, she sprays a hydrating mist onto her face and pats it dry before applying sunscreen. At night, she double cleanses before following up with toner and moisturiser.
Using products that work for both the body and face
One Redditor revealed that whenever she goes on a trip, she cuts down on her luggage space and beauty routine by packing a cleanser and a moisturiser that can be used on both the body and face.
This is one hack that had us thinking, “Why didn’t we think of that?!”. Other than a cleanser and moisturiser, you could pick up a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner, or a shampoo and body wash.
Slapping on a one-minute sheet mask that replaces every skincare step
Those who are into Japanese beauty might already know of the three-in-one face mask brand called Saborino.
The Saborino face masks act as a cleanser, moisturiser, and primer all at once and is gentle enough for daily use. There are currently several different types, each designed for different skincare concerns.
Incorporating makeup or moisturiser with SPF
No, that doesn’t mean you should replace your sunscreen with SPF-infused makeup! In the past, we’ve covered that SPF foundations do not provide as much sun protection as a dedicated sunscreen.
The idea here is to incorporate makeup or moisturisers with SPF on top of your sunscreen. This would fill in any SPF gaps to ensure even protection.
Adding colour using only lip and cheek tints
Instead of using eyeshadow and blusher, one Redditor shared that whenever she wants to add colour to her face, she reaches for her lip and cheek tints.
This tip almost reminds us of the sweet girl blush method, which involves using lip tints to create a rosy, youthful glow on the face. If you’re interested in it, we’ve tried this blush method along with two others.
Skip the exfoliating washcloth with a BHA-infused body wash
For those of you who can get so exhausted that you can’t be bothered with using washcloths and would rather sit for a few minutes in the shower, this is a tip you might want to try.
Add a body wash with BHA like the Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Day Miracle Acne Clear Body Cleanser to your shower routine. That way, you can say goodbye to both manual exfoliation and ingrown hairs. One warning: do not use BHA products on your sensitive bits.
Use scented body cream or deodorant instead of perfume
You can get the best of both worlds with scented body cream or deodorant instead of using a separate perfume and body lotion.
Some perfumes already have a body cream alternative, such as the Chloe Signature Eau De Parfum Body Cream, which means you can still smell like your favourite scent.
